Now vs Then Now: Installed Motorfest and fully updated it two weeks ago, prior to my Alan Wake II jaunt. Today however. Then: AC4 Black Flag OG installed off the disc. Mostly. No updates required.
In times like these, it feels like physical is our only insurance policy for future generations.
Games Complete 2026 #19 Alan Wake II Hoo boy. So I think ‘flawed masterpiece’ is the most apt description. Confusing, obtuse, visually disorienting and equally stunning. A great big ego trip for Sam Lake. Maybe that was the plot or the point. I forget which one. The Final Draft can do one for now.

Well, it doesn’t feel especially premium, apart from being housed inside R2D2’s ballsack. I would proffer that is what the build quality of your standard controller should be, Sony.
Interestingly enough, I managed to get on the PS2 PlayStation Online beta program. Movies and TV were definitely not even an a consideration for PS2, bar DVD compatibility obvs. But those early games… Sony made some deep strides. SOCOM, Twisted Metal Black and Hardware are deeply lodged in my brain.
Realised that I hadn’t scanned a whole clutch of PSP and Xbox games in CLZ. Current running total: 2980. At some point I’ll need to work out how I filter out digital games, but I can’t be far off 3000 now.
Show me a cool physical game. Silent Hill 2: Special 2 Disc Set. One of the first real heavy hitters on PS2, this set expectations for the platform moving forward and is still heralded as a peak moment in horror games.
Ooof, that's some all time Top Ten list shit right there. I saw one film last month: The Terminal Man. It was peak.
Reminding myself that, when I had money, I picked this up for a song at CEX.
