Great to get assurance directly from the incoming Prime Minister today (53 seconds) following my lobbying that we must pay tribute to the victims of the Chinook crash. We must ensure that the families are given respect and the dignity of their case coming under a full investigation.
Today I asked the Minister to deny the wild rumour that the devolution deal for Wessex is no longer happening without the local councils being consulted. This is not democratic and would undermine our councils, showing a blatant disregard for local government.
It was a pleasure to chat face to face with local residents at my constituent surgery in Wareham on Friday. This summer I'll be visiting villages across the constituency in my Summer Village Tour, look out for more info coming soon!
Love this card from @dadshiftuk.bsky.social ⚽️👶 The UK has the worst paternity leave in Europe, Dads and non-birthing parents get just two weeks off. That's not good enough for families or children. It’s time to fix it. P.S. This card is definitely AI, I don't really look that good in a footie kit!
It's a summer of sport, and we're seeing just how much sport means to young people. For many children, the chance to play sport starts at school. That’s why I’ve been pressing the Government to properly fund it, I’ll do everything I can to stand up for sports!
It's shameful that conversion practices, that seek to change, ‘cure’ or supress LGBTQ+ people, are still legal in the UK today. I stand with Stonewall in their campaign - conversion practices must be banned immediately. #BanConversionPractices
We must tackle nepotism, bias and toxicity in the way that we recruit leaders in our police force. Four Chief Constables in eight years shows that the current system is unsustainable, we need a fresh approach to hiring to break this pattern.

Thanks to everyone I’ve met and heard from this week. Here’s a look at what I’ve been working on in Westminster and across Mid Dorset and North Poole.
MPs shouldn't be able to pocket huge payments from TV channels without treating them as political donations. If money is used to support or influence politicians, it's political funding, and it must be declared and regulated.
From coffee mornings to a picnic in the park, a lovely few sunny days meeting people in the constituency!
Another weekend and this time it’s DEFINITELY a board game! Catan with the kids … and I even won!9
Today is a special anniversary for me. It marks exactly two years since I was elected as the MP for Mid Dorset and North Poole. I've learned a huge amount along the way, and I'm grateful every day for the opportunity to represent the place I call home. Here's to many more!
The River Stour is one of our greatest assets. Keeping it safe for our community will remain a priority for me.
Wessex Water have reported that they are not aware of any recent pollution incidents in this area, and there is currently no evidence of a specific contamination event. However, they did add that natural waterways can contain bacteria and pathogens that may cause serious illness.
I visited the site myself with Councillor Richard Burton to test the water. While the river appeared clear and wildlife was visible, as a precautionary measure I also wrote to both Wessex Water and the Environment Agency to establish the facts.
In late June, I was made aware of reports of local children being hospitalised after swimming in the River Stour. I have been raising concerns about water quality here for years, particularly about the stretch from Eye Bridge to Canford School, which is widely used by residents.
Wimborne did us proud tonight standing up to racism after local theatre booked Katie Hopkins After discovering that few tickets had been purchased by people actually from the town, the crowd protesting her looks bigger than theWimborne residents attending Sadly couldn’t make it back in time to join
Our local businesses cannot be left to face the consequences of severe flooding alone. Flood recovery grants must be extended to all named storms, giving businesses the support they need to recover and thrive.
It's an honour to work hard for you as your MP. Here's a few things that I've been up to in the last week. If you have any casework enquiries, email them into my office at vikki.slade.mp@parliament.uk
Post Offices are more than just places to send letters, they're essential community hubs. As banks disappear, these spaces are more important than ever. I know this closure will be worrying news for many local residents. I will continue pressing for a replacement service to be found as a priority.
Education is a fundamental right. Illegal settlements continue to make it harder for Palestinian children to travel safely to and from school. I've called for a full travel ban on Settlers to send a clear message: these actions have consequences.
Carers are unsung heroes. However without a Carers Register, families are left open to abuse by those who don't have DBS checks or verified training. We must establish a Carers Register to ensure all those who provide care to our loved ones are safe, competent and trained.
non-binary people are at risk. Pride Month may be ending today, but the values it represents endure all year round. Every person deserves to be treated with dignity, respect and fairness. Let's recommit ourselves to building a society where everyone feels valued and welcome. Solidarity always🌈🏳️⚧️
As Pride month 2026 comes to a close, I am reflecting on the fears and uncertainties many trans people have shared in recent months. I am deeply worried by the growing discrimination they experience, and I fear that recent changes to guidance will usher in another era of unsafety where trans and...
Climate action can't wait. 🌍 At London Climate Week experts, businesses and campaigners joined together to discuss how we can build a cleaner, greener and more resilient future. The decisions we make now will shape the world we leave to the next generation.
The first duty of any Government is to protect its people. Today on Armed Forces Day, I'm calling for the immediate publication of the Defence Investment Plan so we know our brave servicemen and women will have the equipment, resources and support they need to defend our country and keep us safe.
Proud to attend this Defence Showcase during Armed Forces Week and see first-hand the innovation, expertise and dedication that help keep our country safe.
Living with a stoma shouldn't mean you have to stay home. Yet for many people, inadequate facilities and being challenged for using accessible toilets are everyday realities. Hidden disabilities deserve visible support it's time for more stoma-friendly public toilets.
Today is the closing day of the hearing on whether the Canford Magna incinerator will be given the green light. Yesterday in Parliament, I urged the Government to pause decisions on new incinerator developments, giving communities like ours the chance to meet our carbon and net zero targets.
