Drove carefully and had such a magical, wonderful time out in nature, found soooo many herbs and made friends with lots of trees 🥰 glad I didn't let the astro-anxiety get the better of me!

I'm actually so psyched and my inner goth teenager is *over the moon* about this outfit and the fact it all fits comfortably (having one too many times bought cool goth clothing and never been able to wear it without serious discomfort) 🥲🥹

Once again thinking about how the Saturn-ruled Full Moons aren't visible at all in Iceland and our reputation for being without either discipline or manners 👀

Ended up going today with some friends to make flower wreaths. We did an altar to Fortuna on her day, gave offerings and asked for blessings, sang to the elves, lit mullein and regular candles and gave our crowns to the sea and forest 🥰

If you do any foraging for any reason, whether it's healing herbs, magical plants, for crafting or healing/magical stones, this is the time of year to do it. Most Icelandic herbs are in bloom at this time too, bursting with energy 🍀 And the weather is nice for searching for magic stones, too 👀

The other says you must wait for the morning dew, then roll around naked in the dew. This gives you good health for the year, but it was also used as a cure for a great variety of ailments! Some say it's enough to use the dew to wash your face or the area most affected by illness, or walk barefoot 🦶

But it also means that our green friends get 24/7 daylight! And so any herbs or flowers picked around the solstice, and especially on the eve of the solstice OR the eve of St. John's, are supposed to be super powered up ⚡

Even in the south of Iceland, this time of year sees no real darkness. The sun dips below the horizon for a bit, but never long enough for it to get truly dark, and in the north of the island, it just touches the horizon. It's a magical time for staying awake in nature 👁️

Today is St. John's Mass and Icelandic folk tradition held this day as a feast day long after Protestant conversion, likely because it was so close to the summer solstice. Even today, it's one of those holy days that you'll see marked in most calendars here. (All photos mine 📸)

It's my birthday! 🥳 3H profection let's go! This last year has really changed my view of the 2H in many ways, in general and personally. The Gate of Hades has brought me down low, swept away any financial security from under my feet and bringing my mental and physical health to extremes 🤕
