The highway now cuts the original townsite in half, which also includes buildings that were originally in other communities, including the Wasa Hotel, which contains a museum.

First visit to Ft Steele Historic Site, BC, of the season. The town was originally named Galbraith’s Ferry, for the river crossing for the miner’s heading north, then Fort Steele, referring to the adjacent NWMP post, named for Supt. Sam Steele.

So, this house always goes crazy every year with the lights. . . .
