Voyager1
@voyager1
Retired Space Cowboy. I've known Mariners, Pioneers, Vikings and Voyagers. Yellow dog Texas Democrat. Blues. Scotch. Rye. 4:20. Great X 6 nephew of Davy Crockett. No crypto. No religion. No DMs. Old (77yrs), happily married (58yrs). I tend to swear.
I know the feeling. I've lost two different 15 year olds over the past two years. Both of them were rescues. Ruby, the coon hound was the oldest and the first to go. Barney was devastated when she was no longer around. They were buddies.
I can honestly say I've never consumed a single drop of a concocted "energy" drink but even if I were so inclined, I know a brand I'd avoid like the plague. It appears DonOld is selling ad space on the monstrosity he's had built on the White House lawn:
As a hobbyist photographer myself I like your work. Keep it up. One minor critique: I don't see any sunrises. They take a commitment but they are worth it; I took this at the Goldstone Deep Space Communications Complex in the Mojave. Working graveyard shift has some benefits:
Sometimes it's just a matter of timing. Walk out the back door (looking East) at the right time and there it is.
Being from Texas, I have to question the 'cowboy' hat. Wouldn't this be more appropriate??
I was at NASA/JPL's Goldstone Deep Space Communications Complex (Mojave Desert), Deep Space Station-14 (aka Mars) when the Voyagers were launched. It takes an antenna like this to continue tracking Voyagers;
This was Ruby, a fine red/blue tick coon hound, rescued 15 years ago. We lost her 2 years ago and still miss her greatly.
Too bad the current iteration has changed their MO to saying what they think the law ought to be.
Wrap your mind around this and then remember what Ron White said about fixing it.
I was in the Deep Space Network at Goldstone's DSS-14 when the Voyagers were launched. I obviously didn't make it onto the golden record, but I am buried in here somewhere.
