Crowland Abbey possesses a green man roof boss. It’s unusual to find a green man in the altar and sanctuary but this one has been in place since the 15th century.
The stunning Crowland Abbey was founded in the eighth century. The ruins date mainly from the 12th to 15th centuries but the nave of the former church still serves as the parish church of Crowland.
Trinity Bridge in Crowland, Lincolnshire is a unique triangular stone bridge built in the 14th century. Before they were redirected, it use to span the confluence of the river Welland and a tributary. #Archaeology #History

The ruins of Nocton Hall, Lincolnshire are like something from Lothlórien. The original building was 16th century but underwent major changes in the 17th and 19th centuries. Sadly, it was burnt down by arsonists in 2004 but, reclaimed by nature, the ruins have an otherworldly beauty. #Archaeology
