My great aunt wrote this in her autobiography - I thought it worth sharing #NHS #Hospitalcare
Hope @lewisgoodall.com won’t mind me reminding folks - but this was being discussed last year - what does it take to wake up?
Tripped over this - tucked inside a folder of notes from my studies a few years ago - ever more relevant - so sad inside - I’ve never understood why anyone with kids doesn’t care - We don’t inherit the world from our parents - we borrow it from our kids 🌍
Ours always ate at the table with us - vital during formative years imho - more so later when it becomes the best way to properly keep in touch with their young lives - this evidently paid off when parents of their young friends told us how sociable they were at dinner. Kids learn by example.
The level of intelligence - or lack of - is astonishing - if you didn’t know what position would you suggest might be the pinnacle of this persons career?
@jmpsimor.bsky.social this should be guarded more than anything else - plenty of reports out there about families in US bankrupted by medical bills - and while we’re here I’m reminded of reading in my aunts memoirs about doctors wanting a cheque before carrying out an emergency operation.
