The Barons War/Medieval project continues with 12 crossbow infantry. Will be seeing use in SAGA, Midgard and more! Figures by @wargamesatlantic.bsky.social
With lots of games of Midgard happening at the club, I’ve started basing up some sabot bases so I can fit my SAGA forces into Midgard armies. Quite happy with the effect, and could get another two bases with only a few more figures!
First 6 fallschrimjager off the line. Will be a slow grow platoon with that camo pattern…
I know it’s only a teaser but this is looking good, no full base strips. I’d be interested if this is a way to do a Zulu collection on the cheap!
Test figure for my next Bolt Action/Chain of Command platoon for the Italian Campaign. It’ll be German Fallschrimjager with a lovely complicated uniform. Some of them also wore captured Italian uniforms which are equally as difficult. It’ll be a painting challenge!
Some more Medievals, 3 foot knights and 3 mounted. Certainly a different painting experience painting so much of bold bright colours! Figures by @wargamesatlantic.bsky.social
8 more of the Wargames Atlantic Peasants done to finish of a unit of 12 bowmen. Time to tackle some knights next!
Well one thing led to another. Excited to get stuck in!
Tried out Midgard at the club. My heroic Viking commander cut his Anglo Saxon foe in one round of combat! We won’t talk about him getting speared to death afterwards… Great ruleset and will be picking up a copy!
Club day today and played some Chain of Command. Only our second game but great fun. German probing attack on the outskirts of a US held village. Initially stalled, and the Stummel was knocked out, however a strong right hook and careful use of a handgranaten charge broke the US force morale!
Now that the Epic ECW is done for the moment time to move on to another project - a Barons War era SAGA force. Kicking it off with 4 bowmen from the @wargamesatlantic.bsky.social peasant box set. Had them for about a year so good to get some paint on them, very nice figures!
Great day today at the Broadside Wargames show demoing the Battle of Maidstone 1648 using epic pike and shotte. A busy day and a local show that is going from strength to strength
My ninth pike and shotte regiment - this time the Earl of Manchester’s. The last unit needed for the game at Broadside wargames show next Saturday and this stage of the project is complete!
3 years ago I bought Warlord’s Epic Pike and Shotte starter set. Thought it was only right to put them out on parade to show that I have two painted armies now!
Something a bit different today as we tried Blood and Valor for the Russian Civil War. Worked quite nicely and now have a nice target to paint towards!
Now on Annual leave until June, so kicking it off with a glass of Albariño and writing the third scenario for my Italian campaign book
Something a bit different at the club tonight. Ospreys ‘En Garde’ put on by a mate we some great Three Musketeers miniatures. Managed to get two games in, and could certainly see these rules working for ECW or Pirates!
Club order taking advantage of the @northstarfigs.bsky.social flash sale. All the Bolshevik’s are for me. Very well packed order that survived the postie leaving it out in the elements during a rainstorm!
Marquis of Newcastles Regiment done. He clearly hated wargamers so decided to give his troops white coats…
Our newly formed Wargames club is trying to get its name out there, we meet about once a month, with the next day 24th May
Finished this Italian Semovente 47/32. Lovely model, particularly the crew figures. Probably not going to do too well facing off against a Sherman!
Painted up the plastic AB41 from Warlord Games. Decent kit and happy with the finish!
Of course, here they are! A mix of the 8th army and north west Europe sprues
Somewhat expected, but great to have Warlord’s plastic 14th Army kit revealed. I could even see it being useful for my Italian campaign forces.
FOR SALE Two 28mm Universal Carriers. £35 each or £60 for the two. £4 post/ UK only
Been a little while since I painted any Italians, so fixed that with this M14/41 tank!
Couple of highlights from the Bolt Action event I ran Saturday. 18 players, with a range of ages from 16 to 65! Still yet to see this ‘greying’ hobby everyone is talking about… Really fun day, and some really well painted armies on display.
A foot and mounted unit of Dragoons for Epic Pike and Shotte. Nearly at two really useful boxes full of painted Epic units so certainly making progress!
All set up at Salute! Sword beach in 15mm using Rapid Fire Reloaded
Looks great! Getting it done in the year is quite the target, so don’t worry if you don’t make it. I mix it in with painting over projects and make sure to get it on the table to inject some inspiration. Also like the round bases for guns. Just last night we played a game, royalist vs Covenanters
