Finally read 神在呢喃什麼, a romantic suspense HK(!!!) BL manga published by Rusuban Taiwan about a poor street fortune teller and the mysterious man who approaches him. It's more plot than romance with fantastic visual storytelling that create an intense thriller vibe.

Seaside endings are such a cliché in BL but in The Insatiable Man it just MAKES SENSE cause it shows that Inwoo's trauma has healed to a point where he feels comfortable near water

Caught up with the serialisation of Finding My Way to (You) in This MMO World with my J-Novel subscription and it's quite interesting so far. With how typical colourism is, it's nice to see a dark-skinned MC for once who is considered attractive but not in the "beastly" way

I loved Don't Build My Hopes Up when I first read it but after rereading it's become a top fave. The premise of having a crush on a senior is quite mundane, but the author depicts the emotions and internal conflicts so intricately and realistically

Ok done. In terms of vol1's story alone I kinda like the main series more but I have biased feelings for this cause the ML checks off all the character traits that appeal to me: -shorter -handsome -friendly and playful -well-adjusted -dates around but the story doesn't shame him for it

Read vol 1 of this very cute cosplay BL that has both the usual fluff tropes combined with well-paced friends-to-lovers development. Uke is cute and shy but proactive when he needs to be; seme is genuine and we get a lot of his POV on realising his feelings, which are what makes this standout to me

Finished My Friends by Hisham Matar and wtf this should've made it onto the Booker shortlist! It was a novel that hooked me from the first sentence to the end. Khaled's emotions really resonated me and I was often moved by the beautiful descriptions
