The Kilnsea White-rumped Sandpiper taking off to reveal a few dark streaks in the area of the white rump. Never observed this before on the numerous others I've seen but without the aid of digital photography I doubt I would have. Far from unprecedented it would seem. Who knew?

Must admit I do like adult Med' Gulls but with 2 Caspian Terns lingering nearby I couldn't help but feel a bit deflated when upon entering the Kilnsea Wetlands hide this afternoon I was asked what the large tern was with the huge red bill. Oh well!

After a spring almost devoid of waders at Kilnsea Wetlands it was nice to see the rain bring a few Dunlin as well as a surprise Red-necked Phalarope which never showed well but at least had the decency to hang around just long enough for most of the regulars to catch up with it.
