In 1976, Bill and I were part of the Boy Scouts Tumwater Area Council color guard in the Bicentennial year 1976 wearing colonial uniforms. In this Semiquincentennial year, I tried on my old uniform. While I'm a bit taller than at 14, it fit. July 4, 1976 Oakville WA parade. Aug. 1, 2026 re-fit
Vapid woman at the diner asked me about the book I'm reading. I started to tell her and she said "Is it historical fiction?" I said no. She said, "Sounds like historical fiction. " Then she got on her phone. Then said, "You're right...it isn't. " I kinda know what I'm reading.
7 July 2026: finished boating 730 miles on the Green River from its source in Wyoming to its confluence with the Colorado River in Utah.
For two years I've been stopping at the Utah watercraft inspection station at St. George. Struck up a bit of a friendship with the inspector. He would recognize the Jeep because of all my stickers. Today he gave me a Utah DNR hat. Very cool.
Just finished a 52-mile (84 km) paddle from Mineral Bottom to the Confluence on the Green River. 8.5 miles (13.7 km) remaining to paddle the 730-mile (1175 km) long Green River which runs from Wyoming through Utah and Colorado to its confluence with the Colorado River. Mungu akipenda.
