Yet the emails and documents from Epstein's Yahoo account show that prosecutors in his office discussed the financial-crimes component of the investigation with Acosta and copied him on correspondence about it. After dropping off a passenger in the neighborhood, Rinderknecht parked his car, walked up a nearby trail and listened to a rap song with a music video which "included objects being lit on fire," Essayli said.
He allegedly listened to the song repeatedly in the days leading up to the fire.
Authorities said that Rinderknecht then called
911. While the fire burned, he walked up the same trail to watch the blaze and firefighters and used his phone to take videos of the scene, Essayli said.

On July 4, for example, law-enforcement officials say that an assailant shot and wounded a police officer who was responding to reports of a disturbance at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility in Texas; meanwhile, another alleged assailant fired at ICE correctional officers. Authorities apprehended 14 suspects, who now face federal charges including attempted murder of federal officers and firearm-related offenses. Details about Kirk's alleged killer are still emerging, but preliminary evidence indicates that he had left-wing motivations, and could add to this year's tally.

No matter how hard ideologues try to exclusively blame their political foes for acts of political violence, the truth is that violent extremists today emerge from across the political spectrum. We have studied this problem and believe that our data can help illuminate an issue too often defined by partisan finger-pointing. As part of a study to be published this week by the Center for Strategic and International Studies, we compiled and analyzed a data set of 750 attacks and plots in the United States from January 1, 1994, to July 4, 2025. Our research focuses only on incidents of terrorism, which we define as attacks or plots by a nonstate actor attempting to achieve a political end and exert a psychological influence on a broad population. Among other details, the data set includes the types of weapons used, the intended targets, the number of fatalities, and the ideology of the perpetrators.

Cox said that what investigators had gathered showed Robinson "does come from a conservative family - but his ideology was very different than his family".
Citing the content of investigators' interviews with people close to Robinson, Cox said "we do know that the [suspect's] roommate... is a [partner] who is transitioning from male to female.
"I will say that that person has been very cooperative with authorities," Cox remarked to Meet the Press host Kristen Welker, referring to the roommate. "And ….. the why behind this ... we're all drawing lots of conclusions on how someone like this could be radicalized. And I think that those are important questions for us to ask and important questions for us to answer."
The governor did not elaborate on the evidence that investigators were relying on to establish Robinson's relationship to his roommate with whom he shared an apartment in Washington county, Utah, about 260 miles from where Kirk was killed.

The 2019 operation has never been publicly acknowledged, or even hinted at, by the United States or North Korea. The details remain classified and are being reported here for the first time. The Trump administration did not notify key members of Congress who oversee intelligence operations, before or after the mission. The lack of notification may have violated the law.
The White House declined to comment.

The lawsuit - which also names the market where

But even if Maduro didn't know of the plot beforehand, tweets and videos announcing the raid to the world as it was underway surely would ve tipped him off.
Those tweets and videos were posted by one of the men behind the attempted invasion: US Army veteran Jordan Goudreau, a three-time Bronze Star recipient and founder of Silvercorp USA, a small Florida-based private security company.

This deal that Acosta gave to Epstein years ago is completely indefensible. It's
unusual and unprecedented in several respects, in how short a term of prison Epstein faced, 13 months he ended up serving, and most of it on work release.
The fact that Acosta didn't notify the victims violates federal law, and is something even a first-year prosecutor would know better than to do. So I have to think Acosta knew that and intentionally disregarded that obligation.
And the fact that Acosta signed a deal that immunized the co-conspirators, the
people around Epstein, is very strange.
Why would he want to do that unless he was protecting powerful people who he was afraid of?

It isn't clear how the letter with Trump's signature was prepared. Inside the outline of the naked woman was a typewritten note styled as an imaginary conversation between Trump and Epstein, written in the third person.

A Columbia official said "initial indications" show that data was stolen, though the school hasn't yet determined the scope of the theft. Doing so could take weeks to months, the official said, adding that the university will then determine who needs to be notified.
The university recovered most of its systems quickly and engaged the cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike Holdings Inc., the official said. Initial indications are that the perpetrator is a hacktivist, meaning the person is trying to make a statement rather than seek financial gain. The university's investigation, which includes CrowdStrike, determined the attacker was "highly sophisticated" and "very targeted" in the theft of documents - breaking in and stealing student data with the apparent goal of "furthering their political agenda," the official said.

The records provided to Bloomberg, the person said, are part of approximately 460 gigabytes of extracted data detailing financial aid packages, employee pay and at least 1.8 million Social Security numbers belonging to employees, applicants, students and their family members.
The person told Bloomberg News they acquired the data after more than two months of building up access within Columbia's servers. Ultimately, they said they attained the most privileged access to the university's data.
