We are a diverse coalition shining a spotlight on the ways this Supreme Court is impacting our families, our communities, our freedoms, and our democracy.
The Roberts Court broke the independence of agencies that protect working people. The FTC. The NLRB. The CPSC. The EEOC. The agencies that fight fraud, protect workers, and keep unsafe products off shelves. Trump wanted more control, so SCOTUS said "sure."
“It is not a crime to party with Mr. Epstein.” That is what Todd Blanche said. Now Trump wants him to lead the Department of Justice. That is the sound of powerful men protecting powerful men.
TODAY: The Supreme Court is asking Congress for more taxpayer dollars. Right after this Court just finished harming millions of Americans, Congress needs to ask the hard questions and not just rubber stamp the Court’s requests.
Today’s rare hearing with Justice Amy Coney Barrett should not be wasted. Congress needs to ask why SCOTUS keeps making democracy smaller for voters and bigger for presidents, billionaires, and corporate interests. Americans deserve accountability.
Democracy is supposed to belong to the people. The Roberts Court keeps handing it to billionaires, corporations, and presidents who want no limits.
The Supreme Court gave ICE power to racially profile. ICE just killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston. A father who officials now admit was not even their target. This is what happens when courts give armed agents permission to treat race, language, workplace, and fear as suspicion.
The Supreme Court being captured by wealthy interests is not abstract. It affects whether your vote counts, whether prescriptions are affordable, whether corporations can rig prices, and whether we can build a system that works for working people. Stasha Rhodes, UFD ED, breaks it down:
HALF the country can’t afford gas and groceries. The system is broken. But let’s be real: it’s not broken for everyone. It’s working for corporations that squeeze us, pollute our neighborhoods, underpay workers, and rely on the Roberts Court to shield them from accountability. It’s time for chang
A Court that cannot explain its own rules cannot demand public trust. A Court that keeps changing its principles cannot demand legitimacy. A Court that keeps protecting power cannot pretend to be neutral. That is the Roberts Court.
Never ever forget how close SCOTUS came to letting Trump erase Birthright Citizenship. 5-4. Just one vote away from weakening a constitutional guarantee that has stood for more than 150+ years. Shame on Justices Kavanaugh, Alito, Thomas, and Gorsuch.
The 14th Amendment has been in place for 150+ years. But Mike Johnson is upset the Supreme Court refused to let Trump erase birthright citizenship by executive order. This is MAGA constitutionalism in a nutshell: Sacred when it’s the Second Amendment. Optional when it protects everyone else.
Amy Coney Barrett has children adopted from Haiti. She also just voted to let Trump end TPS protections for hundreds of thousands of Haitians and Syrians—including children and families who have lived, worked, and built lives here. LEGALLY. The hypocrisy is disturbingly cruel.
When states strip rights away, the Roberts Court calls it democracy. When states try to protect people, they call it unconstitutional.
Andrew Young lived through Jim Crow. So when he says the country is in worse shape than ever in his lifetime, listen to why: Because the Supreme Court — the institution meant to protect our rights — cannot be counted on.
JD Vance thinks Justice Amy Coney Barrett “made a mistake” by upholding birthright citizenship. The mistake was Trump thinking he could erase the 14th Amendment with an executive order. The Constitution is not optional just because MAGA doesn’t like who it protects.
Without birthright citizenship, Team USA wouldn’t have Folarin Balogun to help lead in the World Cup. Born in Brooklyn. Son of Nigerian parents. Raised in England. Eligible for three countries. Chose to represent the United States. Never forget: It survived by ONE vote.
SCOTUS when states force people to carry pregnancies: “Democracy.” SCOTUS when states try to keep guns out of restaurants, stores, and public-facing spaces: “Unconstitutional.” The “leave it to the states” hypocrisy could not be louder.
Justice Jackson called Clarence Thomas out. He tried to quietly rewrite history. Thomas’ dissent would drag us backward toward the same logic that denied people full personhood in the first place. You don’t defend the Constitution by reviving the logic it was written to destroy.
Today’s SCOTUS rulings prove why John Roberts’ Court is the MOST political institution in the country: ✅A blank check for wealthy donors. ✅A win for the MAGA culture war’s anti-trans playbook. ✅A 5-4 “save” on birthright citizenship that should have never been close. The pattern is clear.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court just overturned 90 years of precedent by ruling that Trump can fire leaders of independent agencies without cause. That means agencies meant to protect consumers, workers, competition, and public safety can now be bent even more directly to presidential loyalty.
The Roberts Court just let Trump move forward with stripping deportation protections from hundreds of thousands of Haitians and Syrians. People who have been living here legally. Working here legally. Families that live here. Justice Kagan called out the cruelty hiding behind the legal jargon.
When states try to respond to gun violence, this Court blocks them. When communities ask for safety, this Court shrugs. When the gun lobby wants more power, this Court delivers. This is what gun lobby capture looks like.
On Justice Sotomayor’s birthday, we remember one of the clearest warnings ever issued from the Supreme Court: “With fear for our democracy, I dissent.” The Roberts Court gave Trump king-like powers. Sotomayor named the danger. History will remember both.
BREAKING: Thanks to the Supreme Court’s MAGA majority, guns could now show up in even more places they should never be. Grocery stores. Restaurants. Concert venues. Hotels. Every day, public-facing spaces. The gun lobby asked. The MAGA justices delivered.
The Roberts Court keeps pretending it is just calling balls and strikes. Hard to believe when it keeps moving the strike zone every time Trump steps up to the plate.
Trump wants a government built around one rule: Loyalty to him. The Supreme Court could help him get there. Birthright citizenship is on the line. Federal independence is on the line. Checks and balances are on the line.
Remember when SCOTUS greenlit Trump’s rollback of trans rights? Justice Jackson warned: “This court has once again paved the way for the immediate infliction of injury without adequate (or, really, any) justification… A pointless but painful perversion of our equitable discretion.”
Juneteenth reminds us: freedom has never been handed over willingly. The Roberts Court gutted the Voting Rights Act, then let Alabama use a map found intentionally discriminates against Black voters. This isn’t accidental. Protect voting rights. Reform SCOTUS. Give power back to the people.
🚨 SCOTUS EMERGENCY: The Court just agreed to decide if ICE can hold people FOREVER without bond hearings. The Trump administration's position: YES. Indefinitely. No exceptions. 5.5 million people are now at risk.
Trump threw a UFC fight on the White House lawn for his birthday while Americans are fighting to afford rent, groceries, and gas. This country is showing us exactly who it works for. And the Supreme Court helped build the rigged system that lets them get away with it.
