Looks like there will be two more rounds tonight. The immediate one approaching NJ is weak sauce but throwing some lightning. But the final one behind it has taken a bowing segment track southward which should mean impact slightly further S in NJ than NNJ/I-78.

Current coastal stormfront moving offshore. Another approaches from the NW which should bring more storms down to about I-78 between 8pm and midnight. Be safe! JC

This path should see their showtime main event between now and about 8pm. Just approaching SWNJ now and should finish up in ECNJ/SENJ. Still lots of activity in PA that still needs to come through with the cold front. Be safe! JC

It is now showtime. Storms have rapidly formed for CNJ and are dropping a lot of water with frequent lightning. I expect the same to push through SNJ by about 7pm. Then more rounds behind this wave to push through all of NJ later this evening and overnight. Be safe! JC

Showers and thunderstorms are pushing towards NNJ/CNJ. This first phase is driven by the warm front and should pass through W to E by noon. The main event is not until 2-7pm NWNJ to SENJ. Be safe! JC

An incredible amount of water has fallen in the Manahawkin/Barnegat/Pemberton area over the last 2 hours. Frequent lightning and hail. Keeps back building to Tabernacle area. Reminds me of September 2006 flash flooding incident. Be safe! JC

This cell came across through Browns Mills area and now over Ocean County dropping some hail. Should slowly float to the E/SE. Seems to be the only action for now. Be safe! JC

Here's one of those thin linear strips of thunderstorms pushing S/SE from NNJ into CNJ. I expect it to weaken by the time it reaches SNJ. However, it is still packing a solid punch at current location. Only about an hour of total impact. Be safe! JC

Good Saturday to everyone! Our linear segment is forming across NNJ. As storms track W to E along this segment, it will all sink southward through CNJ and eventually SNJ between now (late morning) and late afternoon.

The primary stormfront is now pushing across SNJ and Delmarva from W to E. This is where the most lightning and heavy downpours will occur over the next hour or so. Areas N of the blue line are likely finished with lightning/winds. Still a lot of rain to fall for CNJ and especially SNJ. Be safe! JC

Leading cells have been parked over NJ and have triggered flash flood warnings by the NWS. The primary cluster of thunderstorms remains a few hours away to our W.

Two areas of downpours and thunderstorms are slowly pushing across CNJ/SNJ from W to E but this is not the main event expected later this afternoon/evening. Lot of moisture in the air so, like this past weekend, expect a lot of water to fall out of the sky for areas that do get hit. Be safe! JC

Most conditions have been non wind-damaging in NJ. Everything has or is backing down to just a much needed soaking with flash flooding issues. Still some lightning in CNJ/SNJ away from the ocean but everything seems to be...

So far most action has been from leading isolated cells ahead of the main stormfront. The main event is now approaching and could sting between now and about midnight or slightly after.

Storms are ramping up especially a localized breakout near Trenton. Also, there appears to be someone running W to E down the Mason-Dixon line, per radar signature. Be safe! JC

Once again watching some ignition to our W that could bring more storms primarily later tonight (Sunday) after 9pm. Isolated stuff possible before. Today is the last hotter day for a bit however humidity and storms will likely linger through Tues.

It's showtime! Thunderstorms are currently pushing through NNJ and should track towards NYC between now and 9pm. The stuff further back W running from Harrisburg down to DC should push across CNJ/SNJ between about 8-10pm. Storms are capable of producing heavy downpours, hail, frequent...

Happy 4th of July everyone! I'm currently watching thunderstorm ignition over WV/OH. Steering currents should push these towards NJ later tonight, likely after 8pm. Most NJ areas should be ok outdoor-wise until they arrive. Will check back in later when they are knocking on WNJ's door. Be safe! JC

Watching another batch of thunderstorms in W PA aligned for NJ. Between overnight dynamics, Appalachian influence and stabilized air (from the storms), I do expect these to weaken before a ~8-10am NJ arrival Saturday morning.

The stormfront is holding onto a lot of its intensity as it approaches the coast. Not seeing much impact SW of that blue line from Philly to AC...at least from this wave. Should clear the coast by 930pm. Be safe! JC

The main batch of PA/NY storms have consolidated, strengthened and are heading into NJ this evening. These could sting, especially for the immediate NWNJ area. These should make it through NJ from NW to SE but should leave SENJ weaker than they came into NWNJ.

It's 12:35am Wednesday morning and the Ring of Fire storm highway is setting up (see previous article discussion). Right now it's a little more aligned towards New England. Though I wouldn't be surprised to see the remnants of this graze NNJ, especially NENJ later this morning (Wednesday morning).

This week's heat should be taken very seriously, especially the heat index values possible Wednesday through Friday.

Ocean County action will soon be offshore and most of the state will see a rest from thunderstorms. S Cape May (S of light blue line) could still get clipped from the stuff coming off Delmarva over the next 1-2 hours. Otherwise periods of rain with rumbles here and there into tomorrow. Be safe! JC

The forecast for tomorrow (Monday) into Tuesday has evolved a bit stormier than it looked from Friday. There are chances for damaging winds in NJ depending on where the best dynamics set up (have been drifting from SNJ to NNJ).
