Today is the yahrzeit of my oldest child, Jareth, who died six years ago. They were brilliant, hilarious, militantly kind, incredibly talented and perceptive. I will always be grateful to G-d for giving them to me for 23 years, and pissed at G-d for taking them after only 23 years.

On this Trans Day of Visibility, I celebrate my two living trans kids, and honor the life of my deceased kid, Jareth. My life is so much better for knowing the 3 of them, loving them, and being their mom. The world is infinitely improved by their presence in it. Trans people are brave and beautiful.
