The shape isn't absolutely perfect, but it's as close as I can get. I'm thankful for a little rest time today to spend on starting the polishing.
I have my cards! I promise to show everyone my Litany Against Fear reading done with the Dune cards!
Here are the three I've made before. None as as smooth and shiny as I'm working toward, but each has been a worthy experience.
A texture issue with my dorodango became a shape issue, and I've been slowly working to rebuild a big area. Breaking it down and starting over would be faster and easier, but "faat and easy" isn't the reason I do it.
I wore a rainbow every day this month! Even the day that I had the horrible headache. That's why I was also wearing sunglasses indoors. I thought about why I was wearing a rainbow each day as I did my headwrap.
It doesn't look much different today, but this is a slow process. It is a little rounder and smoother. I've tried various glass and metal objects for working the surface, but the thing that works best for me at this stage is the opening of a plastic pill bottle.
It's been a while since I last made a dorodango, and that's something that helps give me thinking space when I'm working things out for a story. I use a slower method for making them. There will be mudball updates.
I don't know what's going wrong with my lotus plant. I wondered if I moved it into the pot too early, and that got me thinking about how I don't usually start plants in just water because roots grow so delicately that way and can have trouble adjusting to soil. So I'm dropping a new seed in.
I've been letting the bonsai lantana grow a little bigger this year. I may need to move it to a larger pot next year.
Got my Loop Switch 2 earplugs! These work better for me than the original Loops I've had for a few years. It's possible than having more control over how much sound is filtered out could reduce how frequently my PNES seizures happen. They at least help my body relax.
I'm terrible at estimating things. It's part of my dyscalculia. I measure things when it's important, I swear! I've been telling everyone the wrong height for the baby fig tree. The spread of leaves is getting wide, but the height is more like one foot than "somewhere between two and three feet".
I had to have a talk with myself today, and poems are often the best way for me to do that.
I briefly had a visitor. Visitor moved at a quick speed when they decided to leave. I'm not good at identifying turtles, but alligator snapping turtles are plentiful in our area. I'm wondering if this is a young one.
My book is 1 year old! I wrote it with people who have no experience with ttrpg dice or divination in mind, so you don't need to already know what a d10 and d20 are or understand other divination systems. Here's what is covered...
Baby fig tree doesn't have new leaves again yet, but the leaves that are there are getting bigger and greener!
We don't usually see each other's headers. Here's mine. Quote post with yours (if you feel like it)!
I promise I actually feel anywhere from happy to pleasantly neutral for these pictures. I should show them the next time someone asks, "But how do you know you're autistic?"
I've kept doing the rainbow wraps, but not going as far as I did the first day. It's my usual rainbow level. I intend to do rainbow every day this month.
Still working on writing my poetry into my Onion Skin Journal. The last five lines aren't in the picture, but the whole powm is in the alt text.
I know I very well might have to replace Bill the next time Mother Spider puts out babies. But it's not impossible for him to recover yet! I'm doing everything I can, no matter how much work it is for one little spider plant. If he doesn't recover, everything goes into the compost.
