We’re a citizens movement. We want to stop climate change, reverse biodiversity loss, create more space for wild nature, and help emerging countries develop. www.weplanet.org
Today is World Krill Day! 🦐 To honor the invertebrate, be sure gto read our report "License to Krill" that dives into the environmental dangers of krill fishing in the Antarctic. WePlaneteers Tea and Anders are at Arendalsuka, Norway to promote the report. shorturl.at/uxSv1 #WorldKrillDay #Krill
Ecomodernism is environmentalism of hope. Kinda chic. #Ecomodernism #WePlanet
Earth is getting darker—and hotter. As glaciers melt and reflective cloud cover declines, our planet absorbs more of the Sun's energy. One surprising reason? Cleaner air means fewer aerosols that help form reflective clouds. Climate is full of crazy feedback loops. #WePlanet #ClimateScience
The driver of why we do what we do as ecomodernists: for the love of nature. For the love of our planet. And the people who live here. #WePlanet #Nature #Restoration
NGTs, new genomic techniques, are advanced methods that allow scientists to make precise changes to the DNA of plants and microorganisms. Swipe through this post ⬅️ to learn more about NGTs and their importance in driving sustainable agriculture #WePlanet #GiveGenesAChance #Biotechnology #NGTs
The Almaraz Nuclear Power Plant in Spain has been operating safely since the 1980s, providing clean electricity and supporting thousands of jobs in the region. But the Spanish government wants to shut it down. Today, the Spanish Nuclear Safety Council endorsed the continued operation of Almaraz.
On food sovereignty — we sent 27 sandboxes to EU agriculture ministers to show why new food innovation in Europe needs space to be tested safely, collaboratively, and responsibly. Watch why. ⬇️
We can have life-saving air conditioning and tackle climate change. Reverse-cycle air conditioning keeps us cool in summer and warm in winter. Using highly efficient heat pump technology, it delivers heating and cooling while using far less energy than conventional systems.

This week, @marklynas.bsky.social speaks with Anni Pokela of Operaatio Arktis about why “Hands off Mother Earth” is no longer a serious response to the climate crisis, and why we need to have a serious conversation about solar geo-engineering. 🎙️ Listen below.
A big win for science and sustainable farming in the EU! New Genomic Techniques (NGTs) have the potential to help farmers grow more resilient crops, reduce inputs such as pesticides and fertilisers, strengthen food security, and support a more sustainable agricultural system.
A big win for science and sustainable farming in the EU! “Today’s vote in support of New Genomic Techniques is a long overdue step toward more sustainable farming in the EU,” said WePlanet’s Agriculture Policy Lead, Hidde Boersma.
Today we will learn if the EU actually supports sustainable agriculture and food security, or whether they only engage in lip service. We call on MEPs to support the NGT legislation to avoid more delays and uncertainty for farmers, researchers, breeders, and innovators across Europe.
Last night the EU took an important step toward sustainable agriculture. The full vote of the parliament will take place tomorrow and we encourage MEPs to vote in support of New Genomic Techniques without any further amendments.
The EU must embrace the technology needed to improve food security, sustainability, and safety. Without it, we will continue to see food waste, crop failures, and higher costs and pollution from agricultural inputs. Call on MEPs to support NGTs this week. Act now: act.weplanet.org/p/eu-support...
From open letters signed by Nobel laureates & leading researchers, to policy engagement, media work, events, & public campaigning, we've built public support alongside scientists, farmers, & supporters for a more science-based approach to agriculture.
There are two possible outcomes. If the committee rejects the amendments, the legislation can proceed to a final vote on Wednesday. That would bring Europe a step closer to implementation. If amendments are adopted, the file will return to further negotiations, creating more delays & uncertainty.
Today is a big moment for the future of European agriculture. After over two years of negotiations the EU Parliament's ENVI committee will vote on the New Genomic Techniques (NGTs) file. We've been there since the beginning advocating for NGTs to improve EU sustainability & food security.
This week, the EU Parliament will have a final vote on New Genomic Techniques (NGTs). NGTs can help farmers grow crops that require fewer fertilisers and pesticides. Tell your MEP to support science and sustainable agriculture: act.weplanet.org/p/eu-support...
