How much for a pint tho?
Getting the admin done for tomorrows trades. Exactly 150 to go. John McGinn the biggest wish.
For anybody getting nervy about the football, our French calendar has indicated that Sunday is the fête d'Arsene. Think we're grand.
Did some essential 3 Fonteinen research last night. Working through Zenne Y Frontera batches 2-6, and a few bonus balls too. Conclusion, these are exceptional beers.
There's something about football kit design where they either grab you or it's a total miss. My favourite recent investment was this year's Bayern Munich Oktoberfest special edition. The collar detail is what gets me. Bought in Father and Son sizes 😅
Turns out Lyon is in fact extremely good. Been coming to this region for 15 years more or less and this was my first time. It won't be the last.
Making the journey up to the family in Burgundy by public transport for the first time. Train, bus, train. And some time for cutting about by bike in Geneva this morning too.
A very nice sunny cycle along the Rhône and loads of vineyards around it. Also my first ever border crossing by bike.
The Belgian Alc Free train has left the station, and it ain't stopping any time soon. This is great. Carries the weight of a Tripel. I'd say the missing booze means the spices sit a little flat and it possibly starts to veer off style, but it's still a good AF beer.
The sun begins to rise on a momentous day in Scottish football history. That's right, it's Avery's football birthday party.
Did some pretty solid cutting about in Kortrijk tonight. With some mild trespassing at the stadium.
A superb time spent cycling the Zenne valley exploring the home of Lambic. The style feels in a great place right now, with a lot of local young folk out on the tour. This is true lambic culture. Bros throwing money around don't mean anything.
Stop the clock. 9h 25m. Bit slower than normal due to animals on the line. But here we are. A full day's work done, stress free, and infinitely better than flying.
Setting off for Brussels by train this morning. Leaving my gaff at 0730, let's go.
A lovely ride out to Mussy today. Fantastic lunch at Company Bakery, and so nice for some child free time with Claudia.
Never in doubt, but this is also lovely. Would never have guessed GF blind. Loads of orange peel, and a good weight to it. Feels like a missing link between the Classic Saison and Bon V.
This is really very nice. The unmistakable house character, but with the pepper reined in a shade. Low ABV Belgian game continues to heat up.
A nice evening spent at Broadwood to watch Rangers vs Hibs. A game undone by poor refereeing, Hibs decent value to take something from it but no dice. Excellent kebab pie. Rangers fans identifying the referee as a cheat, forgetting the rather soft penalty that won them the game. Plus ça change.
If you're not watching women's fitba yet, what on earth are you watching? A sport I've loved a long time, presented through a totally different lens, filled with joy and positivity. There's nothing better. Glad Kathleen McGovern took her flowers in the end.
Due to an unscheduled decompression event on the Dadmobile, we did our first every nursery run in the new Mammamobile. Such a different experience riding a trike. Even sitting down in the house I can still feel like the back end is wobbling.
Amazing how much the hop fields change. Selfie from September, overhead from this time 2022 with a lone farmer.
Our fleet expands further with the addition of a Nihola trike for Claudia. Bought from the always superb @laidbackbikes.bsky.social
First proper away jaunt to watch Hibs. A fantastic result and a great performance. The cat truly among the pigeons at the top end of the table.
