Strong supporter of disability rights. Being a Libra, I always fight for the underdog. Love to garden, canning, eating local. I protest for animal rights as well. Stop all kill shelters!
This is pretty funny. I have no clue who Pond is. I don't even think the 22% know. They just don't like Marshall.
I haven't tried that one yet. There's one I get at my smaller grocery store that's delicious.
Ananas Noire is one of my favorites. Lemon Blush is a good one too. Makes an interesting sauce.
I got a new garden box done today. Working on moving my garden back more since having to cut down my trees. I still have a massive stack of wood left from an old treehouse/chicken coop. I'm going to plant dwarf fruit trees along the fence line. Going to suck if this states politics forces me to move
Not that kind though. I found some nice Australian handcrafted ginger beer that works pretty well for nausea. It's good but intense. I can only drink about a third per seating. The cap is resealable and awesome. Wish all beverages can with that cap. Let me see if I have one in my fridge.
Tried these cookies for breakfast this morning. It's all good, they're made with watermelons. I have never seen watermelon seed flour. They were good. I only ate a couple just to try them out so don't come at me. 😅
And so it begins...trying something different this year and doing spring plants really early. Came up with this fantastic idea out of a bunch of clear storage totes I bought months ago. Perfect to keep my cats out. Feels stupid doing stuff like this with everything going on but have to eat too.
Surprise, Surprise..found some parsnips in my garden I planted last spring. The one is 11"long. I have more out there but need my son's muscles to pull them. Stuck some garlic in too. We'll see if it grows this year.
Okay, I looked it up real quick. This explained my confusion. From Britannica.
Made my own candy recipe. Was going to make that expensive Saudi candy bar but the ingredients were weird for my area. Behold pistachio, coconut, Tahiti, coconut cream nugget with a dallop of marshmallow fluff covered in chocolate. It's hella good.
My direct from farmer haul for this week. Delivered right to my door for free. Not bad for mid Dec in Kansas. Everything is organic including the hot chocolate mix.
Going to finally get down below freezing in a couple of days, so doing my final garden clean out. Today's haul was 5 bowls and pots full. Glad I decided to garden this yr. Was going to take an off yr, but when the turd went in office, I did my full 12 plots. We'll be eating fresh tomatoes into Dec.
Sweet heaven. I'm officially a coffee snob. Tried to drink some spare Dunkin's coffee sitting in my pantry. It was so vile. I used to love the stuff before I switched to a local roaster. I'm actually supposed to quit coffee for a few months, but I'm one lb away from a free lb. I can't stop now!
I agree overall but there are a few true believers. A local Methodist church put this up like 6 months ago.
This is the farmer's market haul from early. Told ya I'd share a pic. From $21 doubled up, so $42 if just paid cash. All canned up and ready to store. I got 5 spaghetti sauce, 4 sweet peppers, 5qts dilly green beans, and a tomato juice. Quick math, cost me $1.40 a jar.
This week's farmer's market haul. It is possible to shop farmer's markets frugally. Besides the knitted chicken, it cost me $58 for all that. $33 was my actual cost using the double up bucks. Traveling a bit out of town is worth it sometimes. I'll post a pic of everything after I can it all up.
My garden is producing better now than the rest of the yr. Weird yr. My cabbage and brussels sprouts grew through the summer. Now, my summer plants are thriving. Usually, gets too cold around Halloween. The donuts are made with organic flour from a local farmer and some of my homemade applesauce.
Canned up the apples from the farmer's market last night into creamy applesauce. Taste like apple pudding. After using the double up bucks, it came out to about $1.50 per jar. I did 3 flavors; chai bourbon, fig orange brown butter, and rhubarb apple. I like the creamy blender method. No peeling.
