Sixty this year! They get counted as assembled when the model is assembled, and initial basing is done, as I like to apply things like Vallejo terrain paste, or use texture rollers/stamps. Essentially if it's ready to be washed and then put into the queue for airbrush priming, it's counted.

Spreadsheet listing of all the various miniatures I've assembled this year, including a breakdown of what companies the models came from.

This weekend has been a mix of assembling some Skaven (finally got my Assassin out of the blister pack he's been in for "a while"), as well as some Tyranids. Might also fire up the airbrush for some priming if my neck lets me, but we shall see.

Yup, I like to have a few extras on hand. Main reason is it sucks to run out in the middle of doing something, but probably the biggest reason is so I don't have to restock during the winter, when it's twenty below. I stock up on spares of my most commonly used acrylic paints too (not pictured)...

A small selection of primers, thinners, varnishes, paint modifiers, glues, and of course sanding sponges, neatly sorted and organized within an Ikea Kallax shelf.

Wasn't feeling the yellow he was leaning, so I went back with some of my darker browns and I'm definitely liking how things are looking. if I remember correctly, ProAcryl Mahogany, Warm Brown, Dark Golden Brown and Bright Pale Yellow were used in varying mixes to get where we are. #minipainting

One can never have too many watercolour paints! Haven't had much of a chance to delve too deep into mine because of the neck, but I really like my A Gallo Signature 24 and Naturale 24 sets, as well as my QoR Mini 12 set. The YinMn Blue is a lot more vibrant than that swatch alludes to.

As for lighting, I try to keep it fairly simple - two Ikea Tertial lamps, each with Philips Ultra Definition 60 watt equivalent bulbs in them, with diffusion cloth over the Tertial lamps. I actually prefer these over the BenQ e-Reading desk lamps I have on the workbench!

Still alive, just moving a lot slower with everything because recovery from pretty much everything takes so much longer once nerve blocks wear off. Plus side though, airbrush booth is lined, and I've also set up some lighting for it too!

A 16" Amazon foldable and "portable" airbrush booth that has had it's gaps sealed with painter's tape, and then lined with white cardstock. Two task lamps have been added to provided additional lighting.

Apologies for the low resolution, it's a photo from my 1992 Corolla SR5 taken in 2005 or so, which had the 4AFE in it. Looks like the battery's hot wire branched off into three separate lines in this case, so I'd suspect similar for the 4AGE. Hoping to find Hayne's manual to confirm this.

Sometimes it's the simple things in life. Finally got phase one of my nuclear power in Satisfactory set up. And yes, I've playfully called the power plant Cherenkov GlowFox.

Reasonably well laid out Manufacturers and conveyor belts in the video game Satisfactory, all so I can make one ingredient.

Apologies for the quote, but my initial reply to your question was boring packaging, so here's a photo what was actually IN the boxes! Three Ten01 Ultracryl Monopigment Sets (M1-M3), the Metallics set, a bottle of Titanium Buff, as well as a bottle of white primer.

26 bottles of mono pigment paint, all sorts of lovely shades of paint. No idea why the camera renders turquoise less vibrant than in person.

I'm glad you asked! It just came in! Ten01 Ultracryl paints. I backed the M1-M3 sets plus the metallics, as I was most interested in their monopigment sets. There also was a bag of German Haribo, but I forgot to put them in the photo.

Four eight packs of paint from Ten01 Labs as well as a few extras. 24 mono-pigment paints, eight metallics, a bonus mono-pigment paint that wasn't in the mono-pigment sets, a bottle of white primer, and a bottle of thickener.

Different project today: getting my airbrush booth set back up again. Sealing the six bazillion holes this "portable" booth has in the hood takes forever with a neck injury. Neck isn't happy, but after a few sessions that part's done. Next step: cutting a cardstock liner!

I think my first model was by Revell, a Dodge Viper. I don't have any photos of it, and my parents tossed it ages ago... So I'll go with one of the first Space Marines I painted instead, which I have a photo of next to a Primaris Marine. They're just a bit different in size.

Primaris Marine, specifically an Infernus Marine from the Leviathan boxed set, next to an ancient model given to me either by a Games Workshop Outrider or as a gift from a store opening event, that I then kitbashed the heavy bolter from the 3rd edition boxed set's landspeeder onto.

Infernus Marine update: He's a little spiffier now. Pink looks less desaturated because I realized I hadn't been fine tuning the white balance when editing the raw images. Oops. Had fun messing around on the armour panels, and making use of the injury's hand tremors for stippling. #minipainting

I know the feeling. My first setup had some lovely MDF six tier shelves, and they were rather useful, but oh boy do those eat up desk space. Now I have a mix of Game Envy Wizard racks and some 3d printed stuff. Takes up just under eight inches. Would be less if it wasn't for light mounts.

Progress continues on the Infernus Marines that are on my desk. Still debating about what colours to block in for a few areas, so decided to try my paw at that whole "burnt shroud" thing. It needs a glaze to tie it all together, but it's getting there... #minipainting #warhammercommunity

If there's extra room, Dark Jade and Bold Pyrrole Red could be handy as well. I don't have all of those colours on here, but here's my old "Rapid Sketch" palette of 34 colours I keep on my desk. I've changed it to have more warm and vibrant colours, but hopefully this at least helps a little bit.

Well, that's easy enough, I guess. Hit up Coolors' site for some help with sorting out colours for the Tyranids half of Leviathan. Figured I'd go ~BRIGHT~ for the carapace, specifically a nice bright reddish leaning orange. It was all "hey, how about using colours you're using for The Chew Toys?"

My usual slices on the left, versus what Rune was expecting on the right. I never thought about slicing it by having the part the paddle was part of as the actual bottom, because then it would mean EVERY slice is a different size, with different amounts of crust...

Five Infernus Marines from the Leviathan boxed set, in various levels of having their colours blocked in. Sergeant has armour in more chocolate and caramel colours from having tried out other colour schemes, but lore wise it's going to be due to having literally just having returned from a woodland campaign and didn't want to miss dropping into combat with his peers. Testing continues on various Infernus Marines, but I think I'm going to slowly start moving back towards the purple and pink I'd originally chosen. Thanks to earlier experiments, I have a few ideas on how to make the pink a lot more interesting, so I'm looking forward to such... #minipainting

Ah, missed a few things... Brown box is Aleph models from Operation:Coldfront and Beyond Coldfront, second big Conquest box has about 50 CAV models in it, the Conquest box at the top of the stack is Longbowmen... I've been working on chipping away at it, as it's hard to play with unbuilt models.

Yeah, I'm ditching the black armour idea, and am going all in on orange, as well as reddish orange on this guy! It just felt more appropriate. I wasn't getting along with the black armour idea anyways, and after a quick test on the backpack I had an idea I liked. #minipainting #warhammercommunity

Muse has gone in other directions, but here's how those Space Marines are looking after several sessions yesterday. I'm really not getting on with the black armour idea, so I might lean into last night's inspirations and full send it on the armour - chocolate on the left, fiery orange on the right.

Figured I'd post updated "what's on the fox's desk" photos. Yup, a variety of Infinity, Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings, Reaper Miniatures, Talon Games, and a few others in there too. I swear, the Verminlord Corruptor will see actual paint at some point!

Decided to paint up a model similarly to how I did one of my first models, although an hour in I'm already ditching the ceramic tile as it's just way too dry. Yeah, fine, I admit it, I've finally grown fond of my wet palette! #minipainting

No extra paint, just a different angle that's got me seriously thinking this might be the first piece to try directional lighting. Why? It would let me portray a regal dragon from the previous view, and then danger noodle from this view! And also, yeah, why not, eh? Seems a fun thing to try.
