Practice kolrosing that finally worked. After 5 different products I found out that instant coffee mixed with walnut oil works great.
Here is piece #2. I really messed up piece 1 so I had to start again. I am going to try my hand at kolrosing the dragon and cherry blossoms on the sides. So... Scottish, Scandinavian and Japanese influences. Lol
Bulk has been removed and it is all knife work now. Making the sausage ain't pretty but it can be interesting.

Alright folks. I have been wanting to do a post like this for awhile. Finally remembered to do it at the start of the project. A Japanese inspired Scottish quaich (whiskey cup) made with cherry wood. The plan:
#spoon Kayak/canoe spoon made with sweetgum wood. Yes there is a natural hole in the spoon portion so this will be a practice carving.
Popular wood rabbit carving. Thinking keychain carvings. I can't wait for the fire restrictions to be lifted and I can get in the forge.
Snek and owls. Practice carvings to get the hands stronger... And the skill better.

Samples of upcoming products. 3 wooden forks, red is cherry, dark brown is walnut and the pale is hickory. All sealed with walnut oil. The set will have 2 forks, a rice spatula, spatula, and 2 spoons.
Of course Dad doesn't like cats but they always end up on his lap. Lol

Robin being a dog! Dad and I were out back trimming trees and she got into the mud hole. Tracked it everywhere in the house before we noticed. She is getting a bath now.
