I once lived on Westport Island, Maine. We had a deck overlooking the ocean that faced west and I watched sunsets over the ocean... on the east coast. The geography just broke my brain. I felt like I was in the twilight zone. We lived on a bay on an island.

I was cooking breakfast and noticed a strange lump by the Juniper that is the Community Safe Spot for all small birds, chipmunks, squirrels etc. and had to investigate more. At least one oblivious squirrel had climbed the nearby feeder cam and I was pretty sure we were going to see carnage....

There's a new wildfire reported this morning, Aspen Acres, still small but mandatory evacuations about 40 miles east of Crestone, Colorado USA
NEXLAB radar shows the smoke flaring up in the last few hours from numerous fires.
