little bit of last night's (really quite loud) set in the wonderfully resonant Collar Works in Troy. Ruining pretty things in pretty spaces, my usual schtick.
Playing solo Thursday July 9 at Collar Works in Troy NY. Half an hour of vampy microtonal stuff like this. A showcase for my ample cabling *and* my ineffectual multitasking. 7:00 pm (!), $10 cover, joined by Karen Dazzle, Laughter Has Long Legs, + Pig Butchering. (I should get a stage name.)

My max/msp students have to include written scores/instructions for their pieces, with "score" understood to mean: "If someone wanted to recreate your composition, what steps would they have to follow?" and this is a real gem from one (excellent) submission:

An unimaginable honor to have George Lewis come speak to my advanced music technology course at Skidmore yesterday. Studying with George in grad school will forever be one of the great honors of my life and I am so grateful that my amazing students got to talk to him in this intimate setting.
