Don't know if I ever posted this but here's me singing Joy Division's 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' at a karaoke event.
The most 'authentic' adaptation of the Odyssey would then have to be the Italian with Bekim Fehmiu, an Albanian actor, as Odysseus. I can bet you that *many* Greeks would be disgusted by the idea of an *Albanian* playing a Greek hero and yet he's the most 'Greek' looking guy to have played him.
People do need to understand all these depictions are *speculative* and based on the art we do have of Bronze Age Greeks as they saw themselves.
If anyone is actually curious as to how characters in The Odyssey would look if we wanted to be historically *authentic*, or at least approaching that territory, here are some examples.

Okay last one: the CGI animated extras in the back here are swinging at nothing the entire time.
My favorite example of a baffling choice made just to make a cool scene is when Aragorn jumps off of a siege ladder and into the Uruk-Hai. *Why* is this ladder here?? It's inside the Deeping Wall AND there's a perfectly good set of stairs next to it! You can find so many examples like this.
A Lothlorien elf extra in the Two Towers gets poked by the arrows in the quiver of the extra next to him and you can see the palpable annoyance on their face. Eomer's sword famously slips out of it's sheathe. The only reason the TLJ scene was such a thing, was due to manufactured outrage.
Okay the stupidest part about shit like this, aside from being AI generated slop, is like... you guys know that Odysseus and his crew wouldn't be hoofing it around in armor the entire time, right? Like, they'd be in their regular clothes? They're travelling on a fucking boat.

Learning that in the Middle-Ages, damaged armor was fixed by actually just bolting a sheet of iron onto it is very funny to me for some reason.
