Issue #5 Aka the one where Bruce adamantly denies Cass killed someone as a child and Alfred convinces him it’s Photoshopped. Being srs doe, the 2nd half of the issue is fascinating as a rando meta rewrites Batgirl’s brain to understand language. The panel of it is so beautiful and unique too

Issue #3 This issue was mostly one fight scene which isn’t bad because it’s clearly foreshadowing for later events. As it follows up on Batgirl’s failure, in Batman’s eyes, to save John Robinson. The flashback we get to David Cain’s training is set up for the final couple panels with the email.

Issue #2 A race against the clock storyline. John’s death was a tragedy, but necessary to push Cass forward. The little hints of foreshadowing concluding to the last panel where Cass tries to learn how to write to be able to understand like John’s wife did with his final letter to her.

Issue #1 Very good and captivating start. I know Damion Scott’s art is really divisive, but it really fits the tone and ambience for Gotham and Cass. Batman being such a dick was a common thing during the 2000s that I just roll my eyes over. Also, I miss these 2’s relationship being so paternal…

Finally going back and rereading all of Batgirl 2000. This will be my thread for all my reactions and thoughts. I haven’t read the run since I was like 7-8ish, and even then, I’m like 90% sure it was out of order. So this’ll be interesting reading from start to end as an adult

I picked up Prodigal Tiger by Samantha Chong at the bookstore earlier today. The cover is gorgeous, synopsis seemed interesting, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it’s based in Malaysian folklore. Excited to start reading it soon! #booksky
