Who doesn’t like a selfie? (I’m pretty sure that this is the offspring of a dragonfly with whom I spent a lot of time—and with whom I took selfies—last summer. We became rather close, and I’ll never forget her.)

In times of great stress and aggravation, it helps to have small victories. The windows and screens were cleaned, the house pressure-washed, and the property cleared--all in the same week (a rare occurrence).

Someone ran over a turtle and killed it. This hawk got into a fight with a crow over the carcass, but it turns out that even a hawk can’t pick up a turtle’s body. The crow saw me and fled, and the hawk—resigned—gave up.
This (left) used to be an entire wall of books—now just these, and, on the left, print journals/anthologies I’ve been published in. Also keep some scattered in different parts of the house—still too many. 🙂
