Amateur artist, dog lover, Sydney Australia. Very patient husband❤️ Happy to be ‘leftie’ and ‘woke’ ‘cos it means I care. # Auspol (PS I swear, a lot) *No bio, no posts = block. Uninvited DMs = block. Gofundme = block. Life’s good, even when it isn’t.
The day I met Douglas Henshall and Billy Connolly. They were so kind to me, whereas I was jibbering in awe. c1994
So, I’m watching a David Attenborough show and there’s a man (in a hide) filming a leopard coming towards him. And our dog started growling at the TV. This little caboodle/maltese cross😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is the 1st page of Michael West’s very informative newsletter. I’m sure many people would love to read it but Michael West doesn’t include BlueSky in the very long list of places you can post it to. As a paid subscriber I’d love to share it - but can’t. Apparently there’s only 1 staffer who…
Today’s Sydney Morning Herald cartoon from Australian Cathy Wilcox. She’s spot on as always👍
Bert (RIP) and Oscar. Rescue dogs love unconditionally and are loved back unconditionally❤️
This is our Bert. A beautiful boy, almost 11 years old. He had a tumour in his spleen which was successfully removed & came home from vet on Friday. We had to rush him back there on Saturday, he was struggling to breathe. He was in my arms as he died 20 seconds before we got there. We’re devastated😰
I had to share this. It’s from a Police Gazette, a whole series of which is available from the company Gould Genealogy, who have lots of fascinating Australiana. Read carefully…
An untouched accurate shot of Trump (from today’s Sydney Morning Herald in Australia). It’s what we Aussies would describe as: A beaten favourite A head like a sack full of arseholes… (We have many more but I’m being polite at the moment😁)
Do you mean teabags?! Get thee behind me satan! 😂 I have 2 glorious stainless steel teapots (hunted down by a good friend of mine when the handle fell off our old one). I recommend trying loose leaf tea brewed in a teapot, you’ll never go back.
My dogs and yours are either related or there is a grand conspiracy among does to stare hard at the possibility - or actual presence - of food. I think it’s the latter…..
Dante’s 9 Circles of Hell: I feel confident Trump will be enduring all 9 at once when he goes to hell😁
Mr Lorikeet is up for “it” but Ms Lorikeet is not impressed. Mr Lorikeet flies off looking for a new girlfriend😂
The wooferunleashed in my profile. Adopted aged 7 he had been illegally debarked by some prick, so had a very very soft bark. He had some massive health problems (we fixed them) but died in our arms at the vet aged 17. He was a beautiful - in every way - dog. We still miss him. ❤️
Geez I really need to see something to cheer me up, all the news is so depressing. I’ll start: Lorikeets having gathered for dinner. I reckon the bird with his foot up is saying “Sorry sir, we’re fully booked.”
I just popped over to X to see whether folks are tweeting on the Hesgeth debacle, and found this gem:
50 years ago today when Australian TV went from black & white to colour. And just over 50 years ago I rescued these 2 items from the Channel 7 tip: Original Romper Room Jack-in-a box with black & white bromide on the front, and original recording of Johnny O’Keefe’s show “Sing Sing Sing” ep 7/1965.
Tried it, it came up with this - confused me even more! Got someone to ring me and it still only gives 2 rings & AI. Might, as you say, be Telstra only. I think I’ll ring my provider, but still suspect Apple. Thank you for suggesting this though 👍👍👍 - it’s driving me bananas!
And from the Cathy Wilcox book of cartoons “The Bad Guys Are Winning” - this one, published in 2005 - shows nothing much has changed. 128 pages. (C) Cathy Wilcox
With the kind permission of Cathy Wilcox: couple of cartoons from her 91 page “Hoary Chestnuts” book. (It’s chocka with great cartoons, took me ages to decide on these) (c) Cathy Wilcox
@cathywilcox.bsky.social Received my Hoary Chestnuts today plus the gift (thank you!) of The Bad Guys Are Winning. I see it was published in 2005 but it is still just as relevant today. Loved them both. Hope it’s alright to include a photo of them here.
They have to wait till Kookaburras have been fed till they’re allowed into garden. One of them is more patient than the other..
Sorry, I can’t not brag. Douglas Henshall, me and the funniest man in the world Billy Connelly. If it’s any consolation I was starstruck and jibbered like a loony🙄 They were really nice to me despite it.
