Scotland’s nature has shaped us. Now it needs us. 🌍 Tackling the nature and climate crises to bring our world back to life.
Nature is bursting with life right now! Birds are busy foraging while pollinators flit between colourful summer blooms. 🌿🌻 Here's some species to look out for whilst getting your #DailyDoseOfNature. #Wildlife #Nature
At a time when 1 in 9 Scottish species are at risk of extinction, Scottish Government needs a dedicated #MinisterForNature. 🌿 More than 2,000 people have signed @scotrewilding.bsky.social petition calling for stronger leadership for #nature. Will you join them? ✍️ actionnetwork.org/petitions/sc...
Despite being the world's second-largest fish, basking sharks feed only on tiny plankton, filtering up to 2 million litres of seawater every hour. What’s even more incredible, no one has ever seen a basking shark giving birth in the wild! 🦈 #Wildlife #SharkAwarenessDay
For decades, the ocean's absorbed the impact of burning fossil fuels. Studies show that marine habitats and species are already starting to feel the effects. 🌡️ It’s time to stop burning #FossilFuels and transition to homegrown #renewables. The #ocean, and all of us, depend on it. 💙
Welcoming @davidtorrancemsp.bsky.social as the #NatureChampion for Seagrass! 🌱 Seagrass is a key ally in tackling the climate and nature crisis and deserves a strong voice. We look forward to working together to champion this super species in the Scottish Parliament. @naturechampions.bsky.social
It’s the #SummerSolstice! 🌞 Today marks the longest day of light and the official start of astronomical summer in the Northern Hemisphere - the perfect excuse to spend a little extra time outdoors. 🌿

Our seas are amazing. But they need our help! 🐬 Scotland’s marine protected areas are not properly protected after a decade of government delays, leaving seabed's vulnerable to trawling and dredging. This damages the ecosystems that wildlife relies on. Write to your MSPs ➡️ scotlink.org/100days
Wildlife's top squad... from the sharp instincts of the Scottish wildcat to the tenacity of the robin, each species has been picked for the qualities that would make them great footballers. As Scotland's men's team head into the World Cup, we wish them the very best of luck! ⚽ #WorldCup2026
What do fin whales, curlews, seagrass and oysters have in common? They rely on healthy marine environments. 🌊🌍 This #WorldOceansDay, we're celebrating marine species and highlighting projects that protect them. From Blue Corridors and Restoration Forth to saltmarsh research (watch this space 👀).
Thanks to MSPs from all political parties who joined to hear our asks, speak with attendees and pledge to protect nature. Here are just a few that came along. ⬇️ @mareetodd.bsky.social, Finlay Carson, Yi-Pei Chou Turvey, @ariane-burgess.bsky.social, @clairebakermsp.bsky.social & Graham Simpson.
We joined fellow nature lovers with one clear message: nature needs action! 🌿 With a new @parliament.scot elected, this is a chance for MSPs to turn promises into progress for wildlife, people & climate. The demo gave hope that together, we can bring our world back to life. 🌍 @scotlink.bsky.social
Nature needs a seat at the table! 🌿 The First Minister has announced Scotland’s new Ministers, but there’s a major gap. Join us in signing @scotrewilding.bsky.social's open letter to First Minister @johnswinney.bsky.social calling for a #MinisterForNature. ✍️ actionnetwork.org/petitions/sc...
Nature needs all of us—this #PrideMonth and every day. 🌈🌍 We stand with LGBTQ+ colleagues, supporters and communities. Because building a future where people and nature thrive depends on inclusion, diversity and working together. 🏳️🌈 #Pride2026
Marine conservation is for everyone! 👋 Restoration Forth recently welcomed members of the Deaf community to survey oysters in the Firth of Forth, supported by a British Sign Language interpreter - a first for many! Language and nature are deeply interconnected. We must protect both. 💙
New @parliament.scot. Same climate & nature issues. But it's in our nature to act! 🌍 Welcoming FM @johnswinney.bsky.social & @gillianamartin.bsky.social @sa4dunfermline.bsky.social @jimfairliesnp.bsky.social @stephengethins.bsky.social. We’re ready to work together to bring our world back to life.
Did you hear? Garden bird feeding guidance has changed! To reduce spread of disease, @rspb.bsky.social recommends pausing seed & peanut feeders from May-October. You can still support birds by creating insect rich habitats & choosing plants that offer seeds and berries. Here’s some inspiration. ⬇️🌿
Welcome to Scotland’s newly sworn-in MSPs @parliament.scot! As you settle in and find your feet, Scotland faces accelerating climate breakdown and nature loss. It’s time for immediate, ambitious action. 🌍 We look forward to working together for a future where people and nature thrive.
Flowers to spot this #NoMowMay. 🌼 May is here and it’s not too late to pack away the lawnmower and let #nature do its thing! Letting wildflowers like dandelions, clovers, buttercups and common knapweed grow is a great way to support #wildlife this spring. 🦋 @plantlifeuk.bsky.social
In May, playful fox cubs emerge above ground. 🦊 After spending their first weeks hidden safely in the den, they’re now exploring above ground. Remember to watch quietly from a distance to help them stay safe. 👀
