I got hooked on the concept of Cassette Beasts by its soundtrack alone. It was one of the first games I played after working out that I'm trans, and it helped so much with working out my identity early on. Also I have an awesome laser beetle that can machine-gun bosses to death in two turns.

My review of Cassette Beasts reads: Maybe, just maybe, the best monster collecting game I've ever played. Absolutely outstanding soundtrack, great monster designs, love the fusion mechanic. Kind of fell in love with Kayleigh too, if I'm honest. The little touch of changing from two tents to one when you start a relationship with one of the partners was so sweet. I am very much looking forward to the sequel.

So the oldest picture I have of mine is from the Heavensward Hildibrand quests, but you can at least see most of the face. I had to include three pictures, though, because there was a bit of a shift while I was halfway through 7.2...

To his right, an Elezen man about a head taller than him is looking at him - this is my WoL, at the time called Xenos Infinisant. His hair is black and swept back, and he's wearing glasses with a purple tattoo on his left cheek. You can't see most of his outfit but he's wearing a black half-cape with a red lining and a little metallic bat clasp holding it together at the collar, and a white shirt underneath.

Xenos again at the end of Dawntrail, shading his face as he looks up into the sun. He's now visibly a Red Mage, dressed entirely in red with the traditional Red Mage Hat from Stormblood and its white feather, a red velvet longcoat open at the chest, and a red bandana around his neck. If you look closely you can just about make out that his left glove is white and his right glove is black (nobody ever notices that but I think it's quite clever). He's still wearing glasses and has the same tattoo. His hair and beard are unchanged, and the glasses still appear to be the same pair.

An Elezen woman in the same outfit as the man in the previous picture. Her hair is a dark red, and there are long bangs framing her face, but you can just about make out the same tattoo as the man in the previous pictures on her left cheek behind one of them. The black glasses have been replaced by a pair with gold under-rim frames, and she appears to be wearing lipstick which is almost as dark as her hair. Yeah, I did a gender reveal to myself in April 2025, and perhaps unsurprisingly some changes have followed. Her name is Juin Infinisant now, and I have to say even she looks happier since using the Fantasia.

Elezen, always. Never needed a Fantasia, never even touched the aesthetician. I got everything right the first time. Right up until April last year, when it turned out that maybe there was one thing I'd gotten wrong about myself the whole time, and perhaps I needed a Fantasia after all.

Well, it's taken me all day to think it over, but despite that I have come up with two answers. Neither of them frames I use consistently, but if I had to pick two for Juin, it's Gara and Jade. Perhaps a little *too* willing to overstretch herself for those close to her, heedless of the cost.

A female Elezen Red Mage, dressed entirely in red, with a rather spiffy hat bearing an extremely large white feather.

The warframe Gara Prime, resembling a samurai with glass armour plates, stood ready with a pistol.

A female elezen Sage, dressed in high-tech clothing primarily in white, surrounded by four glowing Nouliths shrouded in blue energy.

The warframe Jade, a literally angelic pregnant woman, in white and purple with gold highlights. She's holding a pistol in her right hand, but it's much longer than the one Gara was holding, with wooden and bronze ornamentation around the barrel.

I'm presuming it's hard enough to count, it was an old Polo variant called Super OJs. Given the account, you've probably seen it at some point, but it took me ages to track down proof they existed.
