I can't believe how popular hydrangeas are! Two more hydrangea paintings are heading out to new owners!
I've painted some new hydrangea paintings, using another technique I'm trying. These look a bit more delicate than the first series, and I put in some purple, as well.
OMG, today is the day for people to like my flowers! I sold this and another flower painting after the dandelions sale earlier. I never sell this much art unless I'm sitting in a tent at an art fair or it's Christmastime. Hooray!
SOLD! Less than 24 hours after painting it, my dandelion painting is heading to a new home. I'm thrilled, because I experimented with the technique shortly after I learned how to paint basic dandelions, and someone other than me thinks it's good enough to be on their wall.
I wasn't sure about this third dandelion painting, but the additional colors in the flower are adding some depth, I think?
I cannot tell you how much joy this obviously-cursed, dead tree in the middle of a gravel lot, surrounded by iron fencing, gives me.
Morning walks are better when you find treasure along the way. For me, that’s any rusty metal in an Interesting shape that I can incorporate into a piece of art.
Rice Krispie Treat cookies! My new favorite, these are a brown sugar cookie mixed with Rice Krispie Treats. So good.
4th of July painting drop(s)! I’ve wanted to leave my paintings with the chairs left out for the parade every year since I started hiding my art, but this is the first year I have. I brought eight paintings with me and they are all over the parade route. Hope some people get back to me from these!
For the 4th of July cookout, I'm bringing my aunt's sugar cookies (she brought them every year, and they are very time-consuming in that each cookie is flattened down to wafer-thin by hand, but she passed last year, so it's a tribute), chocolate chip cookies, and baked beans. Two batches down!

I’m out at the Providence Flea, my favorite market, especially in the summer when we are right off the river.

Still trying to learn how to paint flowers, but in a painterly, abstract way. These are my attempts at blue hydrangeas.
I experimented with painting some flowers on a book page awhile ago, and the MINUTE that I put it up for sale at my last fair, it sold, so now I'm trying a few variations. I think they look rather sweet, even though my flower-painting skills are still in the "development" stage.
I added two more paintings to a bit of an experiment I started last year, where I tried making more representational scenes with less representational colors. The one with the trees and the green sky and yellow moon is my current fave.
Brought some mini paintings to my cubicle at work. I’m thinking of making a little “Little Free Art Exchange” bot to hang on the outside of my cubicle, but that might be a little weird in a corporate setting.
In trying to teach myself how to draw actual things, I've been making a number of Cursed Cat Paintings. Not on purpose, just to play around with paints on canvas, and a general outline of how a cat looks. Two of the worst of them, I threw into my discount bin at my tent, and...THEY SOLD?!?!?
It’s really interesting, how people react to free things. I decided to paint a couple hundred tiny paintings and given them away at this art fair. Most people don’t believe they don’t have to buy something to get something free, and then they are delighted and chat with me quite enthusiastically.
Back at my artistic bull today, at the Wakefield Festival by the Lake. It’s HOT outside but gorgeous otherwise and this is the town’s biggest event outside of the 4th of July.
