Extinction Rebellion BCP
@xrbcp
We are Extinction Rebellion Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole, a volunteer-powered group standing up to protect our planet and build a stronger community. We believe ordinary people have the power to change things and that we are stronger together.
🐢🐚 SAVE THE CORAL TRIANGLE 🐚🐢 Today XR BCP created a sea turtle from cockle shells on Shore Road beach, alongside a simple message: SAVE THE CORAL TRIANGLE. 🌊 360m+ people depend on this incredible ecosystem. Fossil gas expansion threatens it.
Today XR BCP spent the afternoon at Fisherman's Walk talking about the climate crisis. Even during the UK's 4th heatwave in 4 months, we still met people who don't accept the science. That's why outreach matters: listening, talking and sharing the truth with hope. 💚🌍
🐚 Join us on Sunday 9 August (12pm, Shore Road) for a Beach Art Action to protect the Coral Triangle—the "Amazon of the Seas". We'll create artwork from natural beach materials to support communities resisting fossil gas expansion and call on insurers to stop backing these destructive projects. 🌊💚
