Listening to the far right cheer “send them back” in Europe’s parliament made it clear how important this event is. I’ll deliver a warning: third country deportation agreements promote “remigration,” undermine refugee protection, violate human rights, and fund corrupt governments.
Haiti’s was the “first” TPS designation terminated on national interest grounds b/k TPS (and the prescence of immigrants in the United States in general) is truly in the national interest. Unless national interest is defined as white nationalism. Haiti’s TPS was terminated because of racism.
We dismantled USAID to “save money” but this deployment is necessary and not wasteful somehow?
At my older daughter’s graduation from Holocaust Museum program. She gave us a tour of the museum this morning. The whole thing was tremendous. Also: governments don’t have to roll over to fascism.
There was a Jackson Reid high school senior shot and killed in that parking lot not two weeks ago! A tragedy for the community. Nothing to do with immigration. So this is the response!? NAAAAH
