Image (Art): Image (Art): This is a traditional drawing with colour added digitally done for an event known as Art Fight, an art gifting game. It features a character called Freya, who is a ghost type character and Mario OC; she is currently in her humanoid form and is Strawberry themed. She is sitting on a sofa, looking towards the viewer with a smug yet playful expression on her face, whilst making a plate containing a piece of Strawberry Cake float in midair. The sofa is themed after her colours which consist of a light pink and dark pink, along with a bit of white. Her clothing is reminiscent of a kimono type dress with a jacket, and she is wearing a tube-like top which has a stylised and simple flower print on it. She also has two small flowers on part of her skirt. I have drawn an effect on the bottom part of her dress and sleeves to make it look like she's just phased into existence. I've made the piece slightly darker than my usual ones, although it has a blue-purple tone to it. There are floating orbs around her, and she is letting off a slight pink aura. Image (Art): This is a traditional drawing with colour added digitally done for an event known as Art Fight, an art gifting game. This features a female character known as Monika Himegi who is a snobby stuck up mean rich girl type character. She is also what's known as a Gyaru type character who is dressed is the fashion style. She has currently lost her sunglasses and is angry at that fact, so she is standing with one hand on her hip, and the other hand is raised near her chin. She is wearing a pink jacket which goes to her stomach, which has a cow print on it and a fur collar. She has a handbag slung over one shoulder. Under her jacket she is wearing a pink tank top which exposes her stomach, I gave it a heart-shaped neckline. She is also wearing a short ruffle skirt with two layers of black fabric, with the lower one having the same print as her jacket. She has a lot of accessories, which to be honest I'm not going to list where they all are, but she's decked out with pearl bracelets, large bracelets - one with a print and the other plain pink, several hair ribbons with a large ribbon on her skirt, a cross necklace, and earrings. She also does have a large bow on her shoulder as well (which I think is supposed to be on her top, but I drew it being slightly eaten by her fur collar, lol) She's also wearing halter-type stockings. She also has her hair tied up, with two longer pieces that come down the front of her face. Her hair is dark brown, but has light coloured blond highlights in it. She is wearing makeup (pink eye shadow and lipstick on her bottom lip.) The background is a simple blue, cloud background with an assortment of items around the border, a bunny keychain, lipstick, bow, beads and a crown with sparkles and hearts - they're supposed to be like stickers. Image (Art): This is an old traditional piece of artwork that I drew in 2011, it features a female character from the bust up - who is nature themed. She has leaves covering her chest area, which is supposed to be a square neck leaf dress, with what would be berries around the neckline. She has long flowing hair which covers the left side of her face, so you can only see one of her eyes. She also has a crown of flowers, with the largest one being on the left side of her head/hair. She has a slightly forlorn expression as she looks towards the viewer. There is also a pattern behind her, which are swirls that are supposed to be the stems of flowers. I probably wanted the shape of the pattern to be in a circle, but it's kinda turning into an unfinished square looking at it...I don't know younger me was pretty stressed with exams at the time, so please give them a break. || Artist: yesbutterfly. Image (Art): This is an old piece of digital fanart that I did in 2019 of Chrissy and Francine from Animal Crossing using their pre-New Horizons 'designs.' It's just a simple piece with the two characters doing cutesy poses that I thought would be appropriate for their personality types. The background just features a circle, using the contrasting colours from each other (so Francine's blue, is used as the background for Chrissy's section, and the Pink from Chrissy is used for Francine's portion) to compliment the piece, with dots around the edge. I wanted a nice clean feel to the image to make it look like it could be on some sorta merch or something. || Artist: yesbutterfly. Image (art): This is a digital fan illustration of the Powerpuff Girl's that I did in May 2025 drawn in an anime style but based a little bit on their appearance in the original cartoon rather than the PPGZ anime. It features the three sisters, Bubbles (holding Octi), Blossom and Buttercup, drawn in poses that I thought would suit them and bring out their personalities. I decided to also recreate the heart background that is shown in the series. Something that does make me smile is getting that one little notification that somebody has +fav'd an old piece of art of mine. This happened yesterday with this piece.🥲 Like, its 2026, I drew this 10 yrs ago, I've improved a lot since then, but I'm glad you still like it and it made your day.❤️

Image (art: 2016): This is an old piece of digital fanart that I did of Meredy and Quickie from the video game Tales of Eternia. It features Meredy standing there with a hand on her collarbone smiling at the viewer. She is wearing her white dress, which I kinda had to make up parts of the design itself due to there not really being a proper reference for it! As such it's kinda a bit hard to describe it, but it has (what appears) to be a long-sleeve jacket top with a frilly collar that stands upwards and fans out a bit. The top of the dress appears to be a 'tube' corset and the skirt is one of those where its shorter at the front but longer at the sides and back. She has purple hair which is tied in short pigtails (to approx. her shoulders.) Quickie who is a green-blue squirrel type creature is on her head. The background is just a simple checker-board which is pink with yellow - due to using one of the default brushes in the graphics program GIMP which is supposed to be a ball of glowing light. || Artist: yesbutterfly. Image (Art): An old piece of digital art that I did in 2018 of Rosalina and Luma, which I still love. She's supposed to be a chibi-version, but this was a time that I made my chibi's a bit on the bigger size. It's just a basic pose, with her floating there, holding a Luma with one arm, and her star wand in her other hand. She's looking towards the viewer smiling. Image (Art): This is a piece of fanart of Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy. It is a waist up sketch featuring Rosalina who is smiling warmly at the nearby Luma. This is a traditional sketch which I've added colour to digitally, just to make it look a bit more interesting. For example, I also decided to include a circle for the background behind Rosalina and the Luma, which features a purple-pink gradient to make it look like space; I even added a few sparkles here and there to make it look like stars. I also used the default Star brush from GIMP around the edge of the circle (small in size) in a white opaque overlay, and within the circle itself (which are a bit larger and are of a lighter opaque.) It's actually been quite a while since I drew Rosalina, so I just left this as a basic quick sketch. I was going to base it on her new amiibo figure's artwork, because I absolutely adore her expression in that piece of art (and I really hope that Nintendo releases the image in full) but I thought I'd just keep it simple....since her shoulders and the top bit of her dress was causing me a bit of grief. Image (Art): This is a redraw of a screenshot taken from a trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, featuring Rosalina looking back over her shoulder and glancing back at the viewer with an annoyed expression on her face, done in my style and she's actually at a slightly different angle...but whatever. The origin of the screencap comes from DiscussingFilm.net's Bluesky post. I mostly did this because I really love the lighting and wanted to do a study of it with a few additions to make it a bit more unique - like more light effects in the background. I'm happy with how it turned out, but I'm probably going to go back at some point and tweak it. I just wanted to do it quickly without much thought...and share it for Mar10 Day this year....Anyway I think that's all. I took photo's of them whilst they were going around their cage (so they're at different angles: side, back, front) they are shown sitting on their perches and on their food bowl. I don't think they're the best quality ones, but I still like them.

Hi #portfolioday ! My name is Butterfly, and I'm a hobbyist artist, who mostly focuses on drawing fanart for series I love (mainly video games - probably Nintendo related), with a few of my OCs visiting at times. Whilst making digital and traditional art, I also do pixel art & 3d models too. 💖

Image (Art): A piece of cross-over fanart which I did in 2024, featuring Yumetaro from the video game Gimmick! (also known as Mr. Gimmick!) by Tomomi Sakai /Sunsoft, and Kirby from the Kirby series by Hal Laboratory Inc/Nintendo. I called this piece "Star Friends" as I believe that they would actually make good friends, Kirby is on his warp star looking at Yumetaro who is waving happily from his own star; which he can create himself to ride on. The two are surrounded by stars, alongside a couple of clouds to indicate they are airborn. Image (Art): A digital illustration of my OC/Kirby OC Lumina in response to a "Draw your OC like this" type of thing, in this case the original image was of Fred Flintstone from The Flintstones sitting at the table holding a piece of meat with a stern/unimpressed look (well that's how I always took that expression.) So we have Lumina looking really unimpressed at the table eating...I don't know who offended her but it probably wasn't a good idea.... Anyway, I class her as an alien-sheep thing. || Artist: yesbutterfly

Image (Art): This is a traditional sketch with colour added digitally, featuring the antagonist Agahnim from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. I wanted to draw him looking imposing and smug, so I went with a pose for him where he has his head slightly angled upwards so you can see his full face (I'm sorry), with a sneer on his face. He also has one of his hands raised with the fingers curled in a menacing manner like he's probably giving some sort of evil monologue, or he's going to cast a spell. The piece itself mostly consists of red from the sky (and Agahnim's robes) with orange/yellow tones from the sun in the background, and I attempted to use this push myself to do a bit of dramatic lighting. He's supposed to be in a room similar to the one that he's fought in, so I included some pillars and did a pattern around the 'windows' in order to make them more interesting, and so it was obvious where the window ledge is. For the scenery outside, I just decided to keep it simple with the shape of hills & trees in the background, and the Pyramid of Power as a reference to his second fight and The Dark World... I don't know it's just supposed to look dramatic! I'll probably change a few things when I eventually get around to doing a full digital piece (and fix up a few things), but I'm happy with how it turned out! || Artist: yesbutterfly. Image (Art): This is a redraw challenge and study that I did in 2019, based on re-drawing a certain scene from the original Sailor Moon anime. Some of you probably already know which one it is from that short description, since it's a popular scene to redraw, but for additional context, it shows Sailor Moon (from around bust/shoulder-up) at a slight angle, looking upwards with a look of betrayal on her face as she is clearly 'sitting' on the ground in some way (I believe she's on her knee's.) At the time I wanted her to look a little bit more like her manga design, since to be honest until I looked up the origin of the screenshot whilst writing this, I thought that this was from one of the first episodes when she first awakens as a Sailor Scout (when her friend is in danger in the jewellery shop), rather than it being from being later in the series. But the more you know I guess! Still, I'm super proud of how this came out, although I'm now spotting 2,000 errors that are bothering me, but I was trying to replicate certain parts of the original (e.g. hair strands), so please excuse those errors...I was also trying to practice cel shading, which to be honest I will probably never properly grasp, but at least an effort was made! || Artist: yesbutterfly . Image (Art): This features 4(+1) different pieces of The Legend of Zelda fanart that I've done over the years, and seeing as there are four to describe, I'm going to keep this a bit shorter and to the point. [1st Image:] At (your) Top-Left, is a digital art piece that I did of Marin, looking towards the viewer as she sings, with her fingers intertwined in front of her chest. In the background is an oval shape with a curved line going part way up on one side, and is made to look like the lute that she carries in one of her official artworks. Within the oval shape is an attempt at doing a sky background (during the day.) [2nd Image:] To your Top-Right, is a digital art piece in which I attempt drawing Tetra and the first instance of me trying to draw the Toon-style in my own style kinda thing. She is standing with her hands on her hips looking in the direction of the viewer, whilst her feet are in water which comes up to her ankles. I sorta did a combination of making the water look like water, whilst still incorporating some of the Wind Waker styles for waves, water, the clouds, and in the background is part of the worldmap (which I drew.) [3rd Image:] Bottom Left, is a traditional sketch of Princess Zelda from Ocarina of Time, looking towards the viewer sadly. In the background I did a blue Triangle, the colour of which was added in digitally, alongside colour to her eyes, lips and jewel in her tiara. [Final Images 4+5:] These two are just chibi-versions of Vaati, one done digitally and the other with coloured pencils. He's just kinda standing there with one foot off the ground. I actually drew her briefly last year for Draw Everything June. And here's also her original design from 2014. Her name was originally Kayt, but I think it's now Alison...probably. 🤣 I'm not sure whether I'm adding the extra bit for her jackets collar on the WIP. Kinda prefer it as it is.

Image (Art): This features two pieces of art that I drew, one that I did for Draw Everything June challenge in 2025 hosted by AdorkaStock, and one from 2014. They both feature one of my Zelda OC's known as Alison (originally Kayt) with her more updated design and old design. In the first one (newer) it shows her examining a map. In the second image, we have a chibi version and a full body non-chibi drawing. The chibi has a slightly more dynamic pose where she is jumping, whereas the other just has her standing there, but like she's taking a step forward. She is also depicted as having a whip, but I don't know whether I'm keeping that. || Artist: yesbutterfly.

(2019) Kirby and Knights Well, it's been a while since I've shared this one separately, so here you go. 💖 I'd like to revisit it someday. ☺️ #art #fanart #kirby #nintendo

Image (Art): This is an old piece of digital fanart that I did way back in 2019, featuring Kirby, Shadow/Mirror Kirby, Meta Knight, Dark Meta Knight and Galacta Knight...plus a Butterfly, but don't worry about it: I'm sure everything is fine... This was done as an excuse to practice drawing the characters, who are all position around (or on) a large yellow star that is in the centre. Kirby and Shadow/Mirror Kirby are on one edge of the star, with the former waving at Meta Knight, with Shadow/Mirror Kirby holding onto Kirby (or doing a piggy back). Meta Knight and Dark Meta Knight are staring each other down from opposing points of the star. And Galacta Knight is just floating opposite from the two Kirby's position, staring a a Butterfly. There are additional yellow stars nearby. To contrast with the yellow, I decided to do a blue rectangle shape behind the star(s)/characters, with a slight white border, with light blue stars going in a diagonal line across the piece. There are also two blue stars, the same colour on the main part of the background to balance everything out. Image (Art): This is a traditional sketch that I drew, and then scanned in (cleaned up a bit) and added colour to digitally. It features Toon Zelda and Toon Link from The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, with the two of them trying to work out where to go next, although Link seems more confused and is pointing at a map whilst looking back around at Zelda, whilst she seems to be trying to work out the problem. As for the map he's holding if you can work it out...well more power to you! Since I just made it random! The background features my (failed,lol) attempt at attempting to replicate the simple version of the map based on an official piece of art, with a few important items scattered around the border, such as a letter, royal engineer's certificate, a piece of heart, hearts, rupees, the compass of light, force gems, the stamp book, some stamps, and a key. I also used a pose for reference for Link by AdorkaStock. || Artist: yesbutterfly. I had a lot of fun drawing Muffet again, and it was actually a lot of fun thinking about how I could incorporate certain elements that were present in the original into the new piece! Including working out how I would draw her 'now', since the original piece showed her from the back as I was unsure of how to draw her clothing, but I just decided to do whatever and combine ideas whilst drawing her in her battle sprite pose, just at a slightly different angle. Also this is "Version A", since I've also done two additional versions with slightly different colours in them, which are slightly de-saturated and a 'combined' version which I'll post a bit later. Anyway, I'm not sure what else to put here, I will probably come back and tweak a few things here and there at some point, including when I notice Spider no.456 doesn't have any legs or something....hoo boy...so many spiders....pretty sure some of them are actually in dance poses if you look closely... || Artist: yesbutterfly. Image (Art): A traditional sketch (with colour added digitally) that I did of a concept design for Princess Zelda a couple of years back. It's actually a very rare 'darker' piece from me that you occasionally see. For this piece I decided to have Princess Zelda in a praying pose looking towards the viewer with a scared/uncertain expression with the Blood Moon event happening in the background. digital artists, share your first digital art and year vs. now 2008 vs. 2026 You get a double feature here, since I wasn't sure which one to post for this... 🥲

Image (Art): This is a piece of digital artwork that I did, which is fanart of a friends OC called Flyla, who belongs to @FierceTheBandit. Flyla is a cute bird-girl, whose species is known as a Cresent Owl. I decided to keep this piece simple, seeing as its just from a sketch that I did of her, it is a full body piece, with her standing there - but almost like she's either taking a step forward, or maybe she's just landed. I drew one of her wings (which act like arms) raised, whilst the other one is by her side. She's also looking towards the viewer. For the background, I kept it simple, with a double round circle - with the inner one being off-centre, which makes it look like there's a crescent moon in reference to her being a Crescent Owl. It's purple and light pink in colour as a contrast to Flya's colours. It's also textured with diagonal lines, and stars. I also want to add, that I was also slightly experimenting with the lineart and the colours that I've used, although I might tweak them a bit at some point since the "Night Light" setting I have on makes certain parts look a bit strange to me, but it probably looks fine for you. She looks very purple, although more blue without it on, so its a bit confusing for me about whether it looks right. But I'm still happy with how she turned out! || Artist: yesbutterfly. Image (art): These are digital fan illustrations of the Powerpuff Girl's which I did in May 2025 drawn in an anime style but based a little bit on their appearance in the original cartoon rather than the PPGZ anime. Alongside doing the group version, I also made them into individual pieces shown here, but compiled into one image due to cropping issues, but they may be a bit smaller as a result. I've included the original posts that I made last year in the comments. It features the three sisters, Bubbles (holding Octi), Blossom and Buttercup, drawn in poses that I thought would suit them and bring out their personalities. I decided to also recreate the heart background that is shown in the series.
