Follow the consumer instructions in the recall alert to properly dispose of the product, AND thoroughly sanitize anything that came in contact with it, to prevent cross-contamination. Always, thoroughly wash your hands after touching any pet food or treats. Do not allow pets to lick you, and always wash hands after any contact with pets. Children, particularly, must be taught how to safely interact with pets (including a focus on handwashing) to protect them from foodborne illness outbreaks.
