🚉 Today is the 40th anniversary of the reopening of Horton-in-Ribblesdale, Ribblehead, Dent, Garsdale and Kirkby Stephen stations. Members of the Friends of Garsdale Station will be at the station today from 11am–3pm to welcome visitors and share stories from the campaign.

Crook of Lune Bridge is one of Cumbria’s hidden historic gems. Believed to date from the 16th century or earlier, it once formed part of an ancient drovers’ route through Lunesdale and remains a striking feature in the landscape today. 📸 Paul Harris

🚴‍♂️ Saturday 5 September will see world-class cycling returning to the Dales, with riders competing on Stage 4 of the 2026 Lloyds Tour of Britain from Helmsley to Leyburn. They'll take in Grassington, Kettlewell, Buckden, Kidstones, Aysgarth Falls, Redmire & Grinton along the way.

It's 150 years since this remarkable railway first opened - an enduring feat of engineering! Next Tuesday also marks the 40th anniversary of the reopening of eight stations along the line, including Dent, Garsdale, Horton-in-Ribblesdale and Ribblehead.
