Yorkshire Independent Midwife based in Leeds, UK offering all aspects of maternity care to women and birthing people across the region.
Leeds uni students union with a bunch of people equally excited! Not bad images for paper glasses and a shit camera phone. But mostly just watching it.
Leeds (UK) Thursday 9th July 6.30pm. Transdefiance against EHRC guidance.
Again and again I meet women and birthing people who describe their experiences of maternity services using the language of trauma and that of survivors of sexual violence. Sara Wickham is a British research midwife, her work is fascinating. Well worth a read. www.sarawickham.com/articles-2/u...
I asked my phone “is la herradura further south than northernmost tip of Africa?” and the annoying AI bit I can’t turn off replied with this. Erm… what??
Was interesting to see the BBC barely mentioned the March Against The Far Right in London yesterday. They follow Deform and Fartgage around reporting their every unsubstantiated claim and allegation. BBC bias is huge.
London today. It’s felt pretty bleak recently but this was amazing, huge, friendly and uplifting. Had a great day and did some singing.
It was a good march today. The usual “journalists” turned up to film themselves calling us “dangerous nutters” but also somehow “boring”. They do not like being recorded by us however. Funny that. Anyhoo this one particularly disliked the anti sexual-violence theme of today’s protest. I judged him…
Leeds UK INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY DEMO THIS SATURDAY Join us on International Women’s Day 2026, Saturday 7th March, 12pm at Leeds Art Gallery. March in solidarity with women all across the world as they resist the global and national structures which oppress women & other marginalised groups.
Spent the weekend in London visiting galleries. Lee Miller at Tate Britain was sold out, mobbed and felt like hard work. Disappointing as she’s one of my favourite photographers. However the Photographers Gallery never disappoints and then Klára Hosnedlová at White Cube was stunning. I miss art.
It rained all weekend across the whole of England I think, except for Saltburn on the East Yorkshire coast (UK). We got damp, but not wet and even saw the sun. It’s a beautiful area and I find something new every time. This time Mulgrave Castle, beautiful woods and thousands of snowdrops.
It’s been relegated to screen 14 in Leeds UK with nobody booked so far for tomorrow.
I’ve donated to charities supporting Jamaica and Haiti following hurricane Melissa. I’ve been aware since visiting Cuba that their disaster relief programme has responded worldwide. Now Cuba needs help too: cuba-solidarity.org.uk/news/article...
Haaaa. Yup. When Plaid Cymru beat deform we got sodding deform idiots spouting on TV.
The old windmill hotel in Leeds today, counter demonstration against the anti-refugee right wingers opposite. They seem obsessed with filming us.
At Northern Green Gathering festival in Yorkshire UK. What a lovely vibe.
Today in Leeds, England. There were three (I think) counter-protestors all of whom looked like they don’t have much going on in their lives. Mostly we got applauded by people not actually demonstrating.
Leeds UK March for Palestine on Saturday 9th August, 12.30 at Leeds Art Gallery.
Wow. Apparently the words “Palestine” and “Action” can’t be seen together. So “There needs to be action to save Palestine” or “we need action to stop the genocide in Palestine” are now illegal sentences in uk law??? FML. www.instagram.com/p/DMS1a7joS3...
