HAD A SCARY (AWESOME) DREAM YAYYY, described below but forgive me if it doesnt make sense bc i was trying to remember it half asleep. cw: horror, human experimentation, enochlophobia (fear of crowded spaces)

a friend i hadnt seen since college n i went to an escape room in an extremely crowded and busy space. it felt like a lab with high ceilings, flourescent lights, extremely corporate interior leading out to a street that looked nondescript to passerby. it was suffocatingly crowded, with the loud chatter of voices drowning out thoughts other than to stay together. we had been holding hands the entire time since we would definitely lose track of each other if we let go. the host explained the premise and divided some people from the group to enter one of two escape rooms, labelled A and B. luckily we were chosen for room B in the first set of two, since neither of us wanted to wait multiple rounds as there were so many people. the groups were aggressively shunted into the rooms by the game moderators, and it felt like the other players were being more resistant than if it was a game they were willingly joining.

like they were mice screaming and climbing over each other not to get placed into either of the rooms. it felt unsettling, but i didnt do anything about it. I was being shoved into room B, but the wave of human bodies caused my friend and i to lose our hold on each other, and she slipped from my grasp as the door to room B closed with me inside. she was still out there. i panicked and tried banging on the door to get out, to no avail. the only thing was to escape the room. i don't remember much, but there seemed to be a video feed between rooms A and B, and i noticed that my friend had somehow gotten into room A. somehow along the way, there indicated to be a linkage between the rooms at one corner so i desperately tried to find any passage that would reunite me with her. the room was cramped and oppressive, especially with other people climbing over each other and the walls. constantly looking back at the video feed and it was the same. i lost sight of her again, which only caused me to frantically complete the puzzles available to us, hoping to free myself so i could meet with her again.

finally a loud buzzer sound and the cast of the room turned deep blood red from the change in lights, signalling the end and the door clicked open. the chittering of the rest of the crowd filled the air again as the rooms were reconnected sonically. i followed the wave of people escaping the room. i shook a few people to ask for help, but they looked at me with glazed apathetic eyes, and i realized that in spite of the shrill cries swarming around me of people in a similar predicament, the others were completely hostile and unhelpful. i knew her game wasnt done yet, so i hurriedly stumbled to where i thought the gamemaster's control area was, up a flight of glass stairs, recently remodeled of course, to a lit room visible from the hallway balcony from the first floor. their game had probably started a few minutes after mine, so the time limit was almost up. out of breath, i barged in, screaming at the gamemasters to stop the game prematurely. i couldnt even hear myself at that point due to the ringing that had filled my ears after exposure to all the loud noise everywhere. they did nothing.

i pushed everyone out of the way, and slammed a button that seemed like it would end everything, but the feed to both rooms from control blacked out. the exact same moment a loud buzzer erupted somewhere in the building. the ringing and the buzzing and the screaming was disorienting, i barely noticed if the screaming got louder. the game was done right? i rushed back out. the room turned red right? back down the stairs, but the door to room A wasnt unlocked, like mine was. there was much more evidence of a struggle compared to the adjacent room. nearly out of breath, i slammed repeatedly into the door, trying to open it. it took a few tries but luckily the other efforts had weakened the barrier. the door finally came off its hinges and i had to readjust my eyesight to the change in color. the room had turned red.

and then i woke up

I've only read a few at this point!! basic premise of ones that i enjoyed so far,,,, (i've just put them in screenshots bc its long lol) BUT YES, BILLIONS MUST SUBJECT THEIR BLORBOS TO THE HORRORS ‼️‼️‼️

During their younger years, another scheme Ash and the Skulkins come up with to make money involves creating and selling a manufactured photo of a "fairy" (like a cryptid sighting lol). The photo depicts Ash with the "fairy" dancing around him. No one buys in (lol) so the photo just stays with Ash and the rest of the story shows snippets of this photo showing up after events in Ash's life, each more disturbing as it seems the photo is changing. a prominent green bloodstain shows up on the kid's arm that keeps growing larger over the scenes. In the last scene, Ash is in prison, and the Skulkins happen to drop off the photo with his possessions. They wonder whether the photo always just had a fairy in it, bc at this point the boy has completely disappeared from the photo. it ends with Ash being executed the next day.

Ash escapes from prison after being sentenced to death, and is pursued not only by police, but by an unknown group of thugs. It turns out that, during prison, he received a taunting letter with one of the music box discs, suggesting that McGilded was still alive. He was perfectly happy to accept punishment, but once he found this out, he had to escape and finish the job. The thugs, probably hired by McGilded, catch up to him and theres a fight. He gets really beat up and covered in blood hehe. As he gets the upper hand, he gets shot in the leg, but with some tricks he manages to escape, swearing to kill McGilded if it's the last thing he does.
