Whew, that was surprisingly tough! 100% completion on LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy as well as all Achievements unlocked! Whoever decided to make Achievements for beating each level without dying is a monster. I Also managed to become a LEGO billionaire 😎💰
It’s not as good as the ice cream sundae flavor they had last year, but A&W’s new root beer float soda is pretty good! Tastes like regular root beer with melted vanilla ice cream in it.
My girlfriend and I finished Elle tonight (the Legally Blonde prequel series) and this might be one of my new favorite prequels! So much fun, so much heart, and Lexi Minetree is absolutely *perfect* as a young Elle Woods/Reese Witherspoon.
Just 30 seconds outside to get in the car was a painful experience. The smoke from the fires in Canada has made its way here and mixed with the high temps it feels like literal hell out here.
One Piece: We’re going to give you a huge cast of heroes and villains to fall in love with and deeply appreciate. Also One Piece: Here’s the most obnoxious fictional character you’ve ever seen.
Platinum Trophy #201 - LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Gotham City is finally safe and I can hang up the cowl. Fun game, silly take on the Batman mythos, and some of the best puzzles in a LEGO game to date. Enjoyed my time with it!
E - Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture My personal favorite walking sim and one of the most human explorations of faith, grief, and the fear of moving on. A beautiful and haunting experience that anyone who considers themselves a fan of narrative-driven games should play.
Just finished reading “Twin Lotuses” by Zhang Xiaoyu. This is undoubtedly one of the most beautifully illustrated graphic novels I’ve read in the past few years, but this Frankenstein-esque story suffers from poor pacing and too many minor plot threads that hinder character development. 3/5 ⭐️
New library haul! “Twin Lotuses” by Zhang Xiaoyu. (Graphic novel) “Mistborn: The Final Empire” by Brandon Sanderson (Novel) “LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight” (Video game) “Borderlands” (DVD)
Just finished “X-Wings, Lightsabers, and Scorpion Vader: Celebrating 40 Years of Star Wars Video Games” by Chris Baker. This was such a fun and quick read about the history of Star Wars games, and there were several of them that I only learned of because of this book!
I’m about to have a long week involving a major home renovation project, but I was able to sneak in some time this morning with a childhood favorite. It’s good to be home. 🥹
Happy Father’s Day! I may not have a human child, but gosh darn it, I love being a dog dad. 🥰
Just rolled credits on 1000xRESIST and that might be one of the most beautiful, complex and thought provoking narratives I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. @sunsetvisitor.studio just became an “I’ll play anything they make” studio for me. Can’t wait for Prove You’re Human!
I finished The Adventures of Captain Spirit (a free demo/prologue) and started Life is Strange 2. Immediately feels great to be in this kind of narrative adventure game again. Already love the Diaz brothers and can’t wait to see where this story goes.
New library haul! The Age of Video Games: A Graphic History of Gaming from Pong to VR and Beyond (Graphic Novel) Life is Strange 2 (PS4) Merrily We Roll Along (DVD)
Played the demo for upcoming roguelite Chivalware and it’s like Mega Man Battle Network and a Match 3 had a beautiful baby. I’ve done about 10 runs now and I think it’s genuinely GREAT.
Just finished the demo for Woodo. Charming little puzzle game where you’re given dozens of wooden blocks and have to figure out where they fit inside a diorama. Simple, but very relaxing and featuring a beautiful hand-crafted aesthetic. Loved it!
Platinum Trophy #200 - Resident Evil: Requiem What a great game for such a great milestone! 😊
Played the demo for Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Excellent combat with a fun mix of offensive and defensive mechanics (parrying is so satisfying!), a slightly goofy protagonist, and great visuals. Can’t wait for the full game!
As someone with nearly 500 hours in Infinity Nikki, I agree with this sentiment. I was literally bouncing between styling cute outfits in this game and ripping zombies in half with a chainsaw in Resident Evil and I had the time of my life with both.
Yeah, trophies are stupid and I don’t know why anyone would go for them. 🙃
Found this old picture of me from around 20 years ago with my first dog, Mocha. Despite her size, she thought she was a lap dog and would always try to cuddle on top of whoever sat on the couch. I miss this big eared pup.
Checked out a new library and they have a nice video game collection! Almost picked something up, but I’m trying to finish what I’m already playing at home 😅
Sometimes I stop and remind myself that Boogerman: A Pick and Flick Adventure is a real video game.
What if the Dragon Quest XII protagonist changes forms via sleep/dreams? Similar haircut (although different color), similar armor/clothing, and same sword. We never see the two together. First time the dragon knight is seen we see him sleeping and waking up. Subtitle of the game is Beyond Dreams 👀
31st Film Watched in 2026 - The Devil Wears Prada (2006) A first time watch for me, but it’s crazy how nostalgic this felt! The whole “careful what you wish for/selling your soul” story has been done a hundred times over, but this was still an entertaining and humorous way to spend an evening.
30th Film Watched in 2026 - The Mandalorian and Grogu (2026) That was… fine? Doesn’t do anything to justify being a theatrical release (it just feels like a few episodes of the show stitched together), but it’s a harmless and entertaining enough watch regardless.
I binged all of The Boroughs with my girlfriend yesterday and it’s good! The vibes feel similar to Stranger Things but set in the present with a group of adults in a retirement community uncovering a monstrous secret. Fun, funny, and home to a great cast of characters.
