Yay!! The consequences of our addiction to oil and poor forest management practices! Now the air is poison! #yyc
The world is terrible. So enjoy the good things in life. $5 off - eat today - steak from the grocery store.
I just finished The Internet Con by Cory Doctorow. It's short, to the point, and a fantastic resource to understand where we should be going. I suggest you grab a copy asap.
I need to remind myself to take the time to breathe. The world is a beautiful place when you take the time to look. #yyc
The Science Center in Calgary did. It provides shelter from rain and snow, as well as power to the facility. Building power next to where you are using is a win over having them out in a field somewhere, and having to connect to the grid. I'm not saying is THE answer, but it's a part.
In Canada, a good steak is selling for more than $100 a kg at the grocery store.
That's where my eyes were opened. A moment that could have solidified us... But no. Profits were more important. The aliens would be way more cooperative than we are.
Oil companies are set up to destroy the world. They have to maximize shorterm profits, and that means sacrificing people and the environment. The existing system of rewards will not get us to where we need to be. We need a new plan.
And it was pretty cool seeing @bcmerchant.bsky.social face all over the bar screens!
Last night was a blast. I got to explain who the Luddiets were to a pub audience at @dickensyyc.bsky.social The majority of folks learned for the first time the depth of propaganda they took as fact.
I've lived in Calgary for over 25 years. I've seen many a warm winter. This is insane weather. We've changed the climate and are living in a new world
Costco is selling a model lego Game Boy for $65 dollars. You can buy a working Game Boy for the same price. The world has gone mad anbernic.com/en-ca/produc...
Today we remember the engineers who were executed in their classroom by an incel who couldn't handle that women could succeed where he failed.
We watched Mickey 17 last night. It was a delightful dark comedy that doesn't follow Hollywood norms. And that's a good thing
I use AI. But I use local AI. Don't give your money or information to Big Tech. Learn to use their tools against them.
