In a somewhat surprise turn up for the books I’m going to be down Portobello Market tomorrow morning (Saturday 1 August) selling my late grandmother’s stash of vintage costume jewellery (and I should mention she was a child of diamond traders)—if anyone is in West London tomorrow, come and say hi!
I need you all to witness this “king size” mattress which appears to be absolutely fucking massive
Just went on the best rabbit hole journey where a random post here led me to @waub.bsky.social’s work which led me to Amazon and his feed which reminded me that Banksy was supposedly identified which led me to this BBC piece which suggests he might be, wait for it, Art Attack’s Neil Buchanan
I know this is serious and named for someone but am I the only one who sees this and assumes someone just got really disgusted in the middle of trying to mention Rousseau
Aiming for high whimsy, if you come out of the hamm and city/circle line exit at Paddington and head to the canal you get this boat made of whimsy
It’s this which I can never ever replicate using baking powder and vanilla essence even though allegedly that’s all it’s meant to be? I buy it whenever I go to Italy because it reminds me of my prozia’s baking
Made my first home made birthday cake for my kid today and frankly quite impressed with myself, happy birthday to him, happy pushing out day/birth trauma reminder day to me
Ten years ago this week I talked myself onto a panel about under-represented philosophers at U of Toronto with none other than Prof Charles Mills and Prof Frank Cunningham (with Prof Danny Goldstick in the audience)
In a spectacular example of a few things, I have only just finally deposited my PhD thesis into the university library today, despite receiving my award in Dec 2024
Today me and the kids went to the farm, saw chickens and bees and increasingly laden fruit trees and our friends, played with a neighbour’s dog, then went for free ice cream and fried food near and in the market, and other then a few shenanigans it’s been really good

This week we’ve discovered we have not one but two bumblebee nests under the floor of our kind of garden lean-to. One is about 2 feet away from our recycling so the bees have been using recycled paperwork for their nests, and I think it’s rather sweet
Had the pleasure of getting work outside (!), alone (!) last week and I'm still thinking about it -- at the Wembley London Designer Outlet. Found this lovely mural under the underpass, too
Look whose book showed up in tonight’s Sort Your Life Out! It’s @drrobertchapman.bsky.social’s Empire of Normality!
Someone’s turned Kristie Dotson’s work on epistemic exclusion into a quantifiable scale for Faculty Epistemic Exclusion 🤯
todays find: a £13k 3D photo scanner in Wembley—no returns though 📸 Look at this post on Facebook www.facebook.com/share/4cS5uu...

Been fighting for weeks for some heart meds and extra excited that the tabs I’ve been given are shaped like butts/hearts
I wasn’t familiar with it until now but it seems like I need to be although I’m also adding it to the pile of works which make Millsian arguments and fail to cite his positive works on NIT and which fuck up citations to him too, damn
