While out #birdwatching again recently I finally hunted down a Marsh Wren, who I've heard on countless occasions but haven't seen until recently. Little bugger kept darting around, but did surface to the top of the many reeds to look around and also call. Took me ages to find among the reeds. 😭👍

Had a recent encounter with our resident Cooper's Hawk while coming back from #birdwatching. This lad snatched one of the House Finches (blurred), causing a huge uproar, and was about to enjoy its meal right in front of me, so I shoo'd it off. Whole swarm of the finches pursued it out of the block.

Head back out to clear the head with #birdwatching again, finally got a few decent pictures of a (Cliff) Swallow. Big 'ol swarm of 'em were constantly flying around and moving from place-to-place, hard to get any focused areal photos but a juvenile was kind enough to stay still for me while perched.

Cut back a tree, utilized the branches for a scrappy WIP card display from some early physical (messy) prints from my card game, ft. some of the early VTubers in it. Still want to add side borders, but it's nice to have for now. Names of VTubers in alt text. 👌

Card game I'm still working on. 😭 Forcing myself to draw in a more painterly style has helped my art improve so much, but still only like 97 or so drawings done and there's a total of like 300 or so cards.

Early drop slime card designs for each type (Psychic, Dark, Vigor, and Nature respectively). I have several things setup to try and ensure each deck has access to early leveling, with these guys but also another set that have some leveling, lv.1 skill cards that similarly give levels, and others. 🧫

😀 I got to see a Hooded Oriole in the backyard!! 😭 It's a female Hooded Oriole tho so it's not the bold orange & black. Also saw some at the park while hunting the Western Tanager (didn't see Tanager tho). This thing loves to taunt me, but now I know at least one is feeding in our yard.

My TCG game is just a nice, happy, pleasant place where no bad things happen. 🧍‍♂️ Totally harmless. Going with some experimental ideas for takes on "demons" in this world, nightmare-seeded shadows and teeth at a base form, with some variance.

I keep forgetting I should be posting cards as I make stuff so have a late-night little hydra sprout. There's a level 2 Quest creature for each regular type, lots of early stuff in each type to help leveling and get the ball rolling.

The process of going back and rendering some of the placeholder art pieces for card game project is pretty satisfying. 😅 Especially considering how BAD my placeholders were for some of the cards, just being really simple concepts. Still like 26~ drawings before hopefully playtesting the project.

Feels like my camera has had this constant motion-blur to it for a month or so now. 😭 Got to see one of the newly-arrived Burrowing Parakeets yesterday but ALL the photos had a blur, despite me standing perfectly still while taking photos. It was fairly still for most of them, too.

Got the totally second-best trainer card in full-art from a Wonder Pic. Only topped by Looker's total competitive dominance, of course. 🫡 I do like getting cool cards in other languages tho, it feels more neat.
