Tbh, I never went past 4. I started with 2 on the PS1 and really got into it with 3. 4, all the scenarios and its DLCs were so perfect in my mind I never looked for anything more. And those narrations... just chef's kiss! Too bad he didn't return for the DLCs. Sid had to fill in.
