Meet the Godfish! 🔱 They're our new mascot. It started as a joke when we couldn't write "godflesh" properly and turned into a very cool thing. Can you identify all the references used in its creation?
Just so you understand, even after drafting, a design review, an editorial review, and technical rewrites, there is still space for more corrections.
We have not posted enough updates lately. But WE ARE still working hard on #GodfleshRPG. TBH, it's a much larger task than I originally thought... Here is a peek at the game's writing pipeline. ^Icel
More #UKGE thoughts coming in the future, but the short version: @icel.me goal was to find campaign books and adventures, to play with our groups and see how others make those products, for future development. Our #GodfleshRPG shirts were a hit – people stopped us to ask about it plenty of times.
You can grab a #GodfleshRPG flyer at the @uktin.bsky.social UKGE booth (3-510)!
Not to mention the way cursed spirits interact with the world; the special grade catastrophe curses that represent the very fears of humanity, which give them power. Domain expansions. Veils. Cursed tools. Everything in this series is SO #GodfleshRPG coded. I love it so much.
I'm surprised it took us so long to write about Jujutsu Kaisen for #MondayInspo. This series starts with the protagonist eating the finger of the "King of Curses", awarding him with amazing power... at a terrible price.
Many works of magic in the Dresden Files require physical preparation, or a specific location. The way Thresholds and Wards work, for example. This kind of tangible magic is very prominent in #GodfleshRPG, from the setting design to characters' Treasures, and more.
I've been re-reading "The Dresden Files" lately, catching up with the new books. While it's not a visual inspiration as we usually show on #MondayInso, the impact of the series is in how the magic is anchored to the world...
Godflesh shirts! We have #GodfleshRPG shirts. @icel.me made a design for us to wear when attending UKGE, and some of our friends wanted to get them too... So, now everyone can. Go get it! 🔱 icelsupreme-shop.fourthwall.com/products/god...
The creature designs of Remnant: From the Ashes captured my imagination for a long time. Even before I started working on #GodfleshRPG, I used those designs when describing monsters in my games. There is something otherworldly in using insects for inspiration. #MondayInspo #TTRPG
Preparations for @ukge.bsky.social are underway! Godflesh flyers were printed.
I'm a day late for #MondayInspo, but Diablo IV Lord of Hatred launched today, and it gives me a new spotlight opportunity. I love Diablo IV's environment design, because it's both fantastic, real, gritty and dirty. The mythical -- demonic, angelic, spiritual -- has a tangible impact on the world.
Monster Hunter World was my entry point into the series – and it hooked me immediately. From the creature design, to the varied ecosystem, and of course – collecting monster parts for crafting weapons and armour, it was a strong inspiration for #GodfleshRPG. #MondayInspo #TTRPG
The Dungeon World expansion book, Grim World, does an excellent job bringing a similar concept into that system (and Fate core).
Studying and understanding a threat is a strong theme that we are trying to integrate into #GodfleshRPG. A good example is the bestiary in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the lists a creature's vulnerabilities alongside lore and other information. #MondayInspo #TTRPG
Claymore was one of the first times I read a manage series, after the anime left me wanting more. It had a huge influence on my creative style, with it's body horror, transformations, and intricate plot. #MondayInspo #GodfleshRPG Source: "Claymore" manage, written and illustrated by Norihiro Yagi.
Today we have a major milestone in the development of #GodfleshRPG -- the map for the setting is ready! The Cinderglow Basin is the part of the world of Thaal that we will explore in the game book, through chapter 1. Created by the cartographer @marcmoureau.bsky.social 🗺️ www.marcmoureau.com
One of *the most* inspirational work on #GodfleshRPG was Tyranny. From the Bronze-age inspired fantasy setting to the colourful and fearsome characters to the concepts of Edicts enacted by divine forces. #MondayInspo Source: "Tyranny Art Book" by Obsidian and Paradox Interactive.
The works of Hayao Miyazaki were always a big inspiration, especially Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and Princess Mononoke -- which their creature design, eerie environments and themes of people vs nature. #MondayInspo
When my OG group made their characters, back when the game was just a concept, one player said, "That's how I imagine their clothes. A modern interpretation of Greek antiquity". That stuck with me from that moment on #MondayInspo Source: made-to-measure-suits.bgfashion.net/article/1023...
New segment, #MondayInspo! We want to share art and media that spark our imagination when writing and playing #GodfleshRPG. This week, Aviv is watching Resident Evil Village -- and discovered Murated Moreau. It's an awesome boss fight and amazing design. "Mutated Moreau Concept Art " by Capcom.
Sometimes you use a common idiom in your writing, only to realise it's not setting-appropriate. #GodfleshRPG
We are making progress towards the Ashcan Edition for #godfleshrpg Every chapter undergoes the first draft, design review, editorial review, and rewrites before being finalized in the second draft, followed by layout.
Grandmaster @yushuv.bsky.social is hard at work on our special #GodfleshRPG double-six dice 🤩
