It’s my birth month, and I just have to say that getting older is 100/10. I had the best year of my life thus far. And I am so grateful for the joy, courage, curiosity, creativity, and consideration that I have been so lucky to witness in others and embody so often this year. just !!! ˗ˏˋ ughh ˎˊ˗
✨ Luna moths (𝘈𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘴 𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘢) live entirely off of energy they store as caterpillars, and don’t eat as adults, only living a week or so. All giant silk wing moths lack functional mouths and have no digestive system as adults •o• Happy #mothweek ! #natureillustration #sciart #moth
Converted my old desk to a floor desk and it is changing my life! I can actually sit at it for some time everyday now. And I can stare at the birds :>
Zebra longwing (𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘶𝘴 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘢) ✨the only established native longwing in the so-called US (common in the southeast, and parts of the gulf coast). Loves subtropical and tropical climates, like most longwings. #natureillustration #sciart #butterfly
I have a few WIPs that I’ve been anxious to get back to, but big shifts in my routine (/pos) in the last few months have made it harder to work on art. I’m not beating myself up about it, but I wish I was more settled so I could do more. Soon 🌱 “My room,” which is really my world in a lot of ways.
The trunk/branches are also uniquely thick and green, and covered in these prickles!!
The fluffy seed of a floss silk tree (Ceiba speciosa). So many scattered everywhere! This tree is native to subtropical South America, and the cotton-like fibers around the seed help it move through the air and have often been used for stuffing.

Thankful to be so easily inspired and excited by nature, because days like yesterday give me so much life. The last months have been some of the best I’ve had in years, maybe ever. My heart feels impossibly full❣️2026 is already off to a great start, looking forward to more adventures and lifers.

For my holiday card this year, I attempted lino printing for the first time since high school. I’ve been wanting to try out more traditional art media, and this was so fun!! I learned a lot, and I’m excited to test out more ideas. 🍁
Having the most beautiful time with loved ones the last few days. Feeling so grateful and whole 🌻
