Second route down, two more to go. It's that moment where whatever screenshot I could post is a spoiler for Mors Blade... so here's instead another couple of inked sketches - both portraying a certain enigmatic character that will be central to the last third of the game!

My visual novel Mors Blade has overshot 52k words, reached one completely finished ending, and now has even 8 hand-drawn 1920x1080 stills. I'm not sure how to start showing it off, though, without spoiling too much of it🤣 I can show some of the preparatory sketches though!

In front of a drink you learn of their woes and issues, in a charming sequence of dialogues. The world feels vivid and "lived". I'm not posting screenshots from the most interesting later parts because it's something you should experience blind, imho.

For the record, we also tested True Darkness Legend with Delay 0, and we got quite some frameskips/rollbacks, but it was still very playable and felt smooth enough. Setting the input delay to 2 though worked much better (as to be expected).

@theburpman.bsky.social completely destroyed me 10-0, the only good round I won was when he droppde the Evo Moment 37😆 This was input delay 2, Germany-Chile (Wi-fi, wired) REAL WORLD CONDITIONS CROSS OCEAN and the rollbacks are fully visible!😀Paging @armonte.meltyblood.org for making this possible!

We had just one bad match later because my internet LITERALLY DIED and I have several recorded rollbacks. They are not pretty, but I have them recorded 😅 This wa sthe absolute worst match because both my internat and Mike's internet died at the same time (his stream died too).

This was what we got by fixing delay to 1f, same connection. Sharing the logs and videos with the launcher's dev to see whether everything went as intended...

RE: 2DFM02 rollback tests - here's a cross-Ocean US-Germany match on Wi-Fi against @syrkle.neocities.org, with defaults based on avg ping. This went incredibly smooth! @armonte.meltyblood.org it worked without desyncs or crashes😆 More tests are probably needed, though.

it showed also my ass being beaten by Yamda in the past two matches. Gotta nerf Sailor Venus at some point.

THIS TOO?! 0 delay, Germany-France, wi-fi (both, no cabled) and it still worked fine🥹 I hope this is not my mind placebo effect - it sure felt good to play against another player like this at 0 delay. The matches were very smooth, will soon test with an US friend.
