Husband, Father, Teacher, and the 57th Mayor of the City of Chicago. Political Account.
I can’t say it enough, the energy at the Bud Billiken Parade was electric! A tradition that only gets better with time. Thank you again to everyone who made it special.
Congrats on the win, brother! @justinjpearson.bsky.social -MBJ @workingfamilies.org @justicedemocrats.com @indivisiblememphis.bsky.social
Congratulations Michigan! @donavanmckinney.bsky.social @abdulelsayed.bsky.social @abbasformi.bsky.social -MBJ
I’m so excited to be headed to Memphis this week, canvassing with my friend Rep. Justin J. Pearson, as he runs for Congress. Now more than ever, we need young, progressive leadership in DC fighting to ensure that our civil rights and public accommodations are defended and expanded. (1/2)
I had the pleasure to meet with some amazing friends and residents of the Southside and to share about what we are doing to keep making Chicago more safe and more affordable. (1/2)
The Sonia Shah Organization is doing great work to provide education and empowerment for girls and women globally, who deserve every opportunity to succeed. Thank you for the honor! (2/2)
I would like to deeply thank the Sonia Shah Organization for their warm hospitality during a dinner celebrating our collective work to uplift young women and girls. As a former educator, I believe that every child should have access to education and all the opportunities it brings. (1/2)
I’m excited to join so many amazing organizations and community members who are ready to come together to fight for working-class families! My work will always be tied to putting the needs of Chicago at the forefront. This is an event that you don’t want to miss!
Small family-owned businesses are the backbone of our economy, and as we continue to build a safer, more affordable Chicago, may we ensure everyone is included in that picture.
I had the pleasure of joining Latino business owners across the Southside of Chicago to discuss the collective power we have when we all come together. I’d like to extend a huge thank you to Gilbert and Carmen Montoya of Mis Tacos for hosting, and Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez for your support.
I’m committed to making sure the people that run this city can afford to live in it. We are not going to roll back hard-earned raises from tipped workers, who are overwhelmingly Black and Brown women.
Detroit! Thank you for such a warm welcome last night. I was grateful for time well spent in community and being supported by Dems leading with conviction across the state of Michigan. (1/2)
I’m proud to endorse Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch for his run for State Central Committeeperson for the Illinois Democratic Party. As you always say, “Winners do the work.” My sleeves are rolled up, let’s keep doing the work. Happy Birthday Brother!
Shoutout to the leadership over at GoChiLife for bringing the city out for their third annual One Chicago New Year’s Eve Celebration! The Soul of Chicago was on full display, and in 2026 we’ll keep making progress toward creating the safest, most affordable big city in America. Happy New Year!
Chicago rang in the New Year the only way we know how: with great music, community, and of course, fireworks! With our inaugural appearance on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, we showed the world why Chicago is the greatest freaking city in the world! @thejaampod.bsky.social
Donald Trump is gravely mistaken if he thinks he’s going to ride on the coattails of this administration. Violence has been down in Chicago prior to ICE’s disruptive arrival and it will continue to go down. OUR work is working!
Justice Brandeis declared some years ago that America, before long, must make a choice. We can have democracy, or we can have a horde of multi-millionaires. We cannot have both.
Democracy will live on because of this generation. @btnewsroom.bsky.social
Chicago, on your way to Wednesday night Bible study… remember, let’s stay saved. Shout to out to Canton Jones for doing what our people have always done and finding joy in midst of struggle.
I’m excited to be in D.C. for CBC and speaking with my fellow Mayors, on the frontlines of this fight, to ensure our communities keep making progress. Black mayors across this country understand our assignment in this pivotal moment and we’re leading the way. @democraticmayors.bsky.social
Yesterday, I got to spend time at the Rainbow Push Coalition supporting the Hope With Helping Hands event. Over 3,000 bags of food was provided for 1,200 families in need. This is what community is all about!
Thank you to the courageous faith leaders taking a stand to protect this city. Chicago, now is the time for us to lean on our faith, hold steadfast to our convictions and turn toward one another to sustain us on the road ahead. We will not grow weary. We will not faint. We will keep hope alive.
Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook is a highly qualified economist and renowned scholar who served with distinction on the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s board of directors. (1/4)
This has absolutely nothing to do with public safety. Violent Crime is dropping exponentially in Chicago and in Democratically led cities across America! This President has declared war on poor and working class people. Trump is trying to undermine the progress being realized by Black mayors.
I had a great time with my labor brothers and sisters at the Teamsters Local 743 picnic. Special shout out to the most sanctified Teamster Local President Debra Simmons-Peterson.
Chicago!!! You showed up and out at the 96th Annual Bud Billiken Parade! I always love seeing the best of our city come to life with music, performances, dancing, and culture! You are all the reason why this is the greatest freaking city in the world!
Proud to welcome my Brother Mayor Dickens to Chicago as he campaigns to continue leading Atlanta into the future. Chicago and Atlanta have a rich history of working together to uplift our people. Keep making us proud! @andreforatlanta.bsky.social
Yo DMA! I’m headed to you! Looking forward to being in Cleveland with my DMA President Mayor Justin Bibb and the rest of my colleagues as we organize to this meet moment.
