I have resisted getting one of these for years, partly because my hands are always full and it seems very inconvenient. My mother in law got this one for me and it's absolutely ridiculous but also does keep my water cold all day, even when I leave it in the car. So I guess I'm real basic.
For my 43rd birthday I got an epic gift from @jonathancohn.bsky.social. IYKYK. I bet a lot of #mapoli is jealous that I now have this piece of history. It still had some of the wall puddy on it. How you know it's authentic.
In the hour and eighteen minutes that I have been 43 I have mended my daughter's bat mitzvah outfit, written my speech, and braided and baked rainbow challah for after services (I froze dough from last week's pride Shabbat when she requested rainbow). Hopefully I can sleep!
My only addendum would be that EW (with some back up from Dolly Parton's 9-5) can also bring the crowd to their feet. @warren.senate.gov
Not a single other person has gotten anywhere near the applause that just welcomed @ayannapressley.bsky.social on to stage at the Mass Dem convention. I hope party leaders take note of the kind of leaders we believe in.
I've known @etelhaxhiaj.bsky.social since we were baby youth workers. I'm so grateful for that and I know that no matter what, she'll keep showing up for others because she doesn't know how not to. I hope today she feels the immense love and gratitude so many of us have for her. Love you sister!
When Martin Richard at only 8 years old was killed in the marathon bombing, the photo of him holding the sign "No more hurting. Peace" became a symbol of the moment. There is now a statue of this photo at the Social Justice Institute named for him. www.bridgew.edu/stories/2024...
Boston area friends! I hope you can join @brownspromise.bsky.social, METCO, and the METCO Director's Association Wednesday at Roxbury Community College for a community conversation about equity in our schools! Light dinner provided. RSVP here bit.ly/BostonEd
I can't believe my parents kept this photo, but I sure am grateful they did. Happy (?) Easter to.all who observe.
I always intend to find time in the day to go for a short hike since it's so close to my house and today I actually did. An hour between dropping the kid to dance class and running a board meeting I got so.e fresh air! And now I'm getting a delicious iced coffee on the wall back. Win win
When I was 8 my youngest uncle offered to cut my hair as his final for a course at Rob Roy, where he was finishing up his hair license. I wanted Madonna's "Express Yourself" hair. He passed Friday after a brief home hospice and Pinterest is pushing me versions of this cut this morning. Heard.
Was great to hear from @ayannapressley.bsky.social and other leaders in the fight for our multiracial pluralistic democracy at the fundraiser for Neighbor to Neighbor tonight. If you can, support their critical work! secure.ngpvan.com/OvwmzSQT3UO9...

I'm glad we came over to watch the game with my Dad. This cupcake made him happy even though the pats have been making him sad.

My daughter has gotten very into cooking but between her ADHD texture and taste preferences and her diabetes, she wants to try lots of recipes she doesn't eat. Thankfully, living in a 3 decker, there's more taste testers than just parents. Here's the omelette she's bringing to her buddy upstairs.
Michelle Alexander wrote this the week Philando Castile was killed, that Alton Sterling was. It still echoes in my head. It's been useful so many times for me in the last decade and seems so now. www.embracerace.org/resources/so...
Listen, I haven't gone to church regularly in 27 years, but I'm pretty sure this is the wrong holiday.
Most specific fortune I think I've ever gotten. I do not currently have any bake sale plans in the works.
Update, it's delicious. Also to be clear, when I say garnish, I mean cover the top layer of the soup with Parmesan (not pictured).
Watching this chubby squirrel play in the snow and find some food in my neighbor's rose bush has really made my day. Here it is eating it's find.
Shout out to @blackjew.bsky.social who braved his disgust of eggs to supervise our kid surprising me with her first omelette this morning. I'm very grateful for them both. She also made me this sweet painting. I'm about to teach her to make challah cinnamon rolls so she's tacking up recipes today.
