I was just invited to speak at this conf and I hope it works out. But I'm discouraged to (continually) see UX treated like they just do tasks while leadership, team management, and strategy are only for Product Managers and their leadership. 1/

YouTube can't figure out the context of this Ryan George video. He reads & makes fun of Apple Intelligence fails. YouTube is recommending a suicide hotline to me supposedly because this video is about self harm. It's not. AI fail in a video about AI fails. YT couldn't find 24hr suicide hotline?

YouTube added a suicide hotline under the comedy video.

YouTube's policy on adding suicide hotlines when they think the content is about suicide or self harm.

DeepSeek failed my main test for LLMs. It knows Brahms' Requiem but says that "rain" isn't in the piece. Even in German? No, it tells me. Claude and ChatGPT used to do the same. Now they recognize "rain" in the text. It costs more to pioneer. I'm staying with Claude.

Those moments when you can't believe that people (especially those who understand your job) believe that most AI systems/tools can replace some or all of your work. Now on the to do list: Go into Google Workspace and see if I can turn Gemini off from the admin panel.

I asked Google Gemini in a Google Doc how to turn Gemini off. After thinking for a while, the answer was, "Duet AI for Google Workspace is now Gemini for Google Workspace, giving you access to Google's most capable AI models." Not even close.

One of my best friends sent me this email she got from Starling bank. Above this section, it had her name saying these were personal recommendations for her. This is truly awful. Not sure if it's #DeceptiveDesign but it's assumptive and insulting. Who OKs this shit?

This message is simply a thank you email. I'm a user of your Axure tutorials, and I find them extremely well done. They are some of the best guides I've learned from.

Here's why: you provide reasoning around what is being used, why it's the best choice, possible drawbacks, etc. Essentially, you are teaching critical thinking, processes, and decisions behind choosing and using areas of the tool for long-term remembering and learning. I know why I'm doing something rather than just doing it because it's the next step. lots of what's out there provides 'just do this' kind of tutorial, without knowing really why it's the best thing to do.

For what it's worth, I think you are an incredible resource, amazing teacher, and I'm grateful for you.

Thank you for all you do.

#Google closed my bug report claiming I didn't provide enough information. That's a lie. Google is ok with #WordPress being easier to hack. Why? Why build their plugin to expose your username in the HTML of every page? And why reject a bug report on it? #infosec

How many emails are too many? The answer is Zenni. I like them but this is too many emails. How often do ppl buy glasses? This is nearly 1 email per day, and not with helpful tips. All sales pressure, incl 2 cart recovery emails for a product they refused to ship here. #CX #CustomerExperience

I had Google Takeout export all of my YouTube videos. I got a lovely email with 114 individual download links. Most of them return an "internal server error." From a no-reply email. If YouTube ever dumps me, I will just lose the roughly 1300 live stream videos I've posted over the years. 1/
