THe review reads: FAX/ BRAULIO LAM, Mixed Signals III, DRAGON'S EYE; 'Mixed Signals Ill' is the third and final instalment of a collaborative project between electronicist Fax (Rubén Alonso Tamayo) and guitarist Braulio Lam. These are pieces that evolve almost imperceptibly. On the opener, 'Lowside', Lam's genteel guitar playing is the initial focus. It is progressively, yet sensitively, overtaken by Fax's electronic tones, ersatz birdsong and lengthy drones, offsetting moments where the guitar quietly reappears in atomised form. A serene and beautiful collection, underscored by the connection these players share. MS

Press clipping from Audion Magazine's May issue with the cover floating in a light gray background, overtop is a clipping of a review that reads: Rayan Haïdar; CITIES BURN AS WE DREAM OF A RETURN; (Dragon's Eye Recordings de6082) DL 33m; As a Beirut-born multi-instrumentalist, currently residing in Paris, I was half expecting this fragile and beautifully tranquil collection of ambient soundscapes to be created using a zither or a more exotic instrument, as some of the tonalities achieved seem to indicate such an instrument, however it turns out to be all guitar and effects. The title track also involves an environmental tape backdrop, taking it a little towards the direction of freeform lulls in Godspeed You! Black Emperor works. Largely though it just shimmers and glides like an audio mist blown by the gentlest breeze.
