A bit of sketching from a Van Dyke in my book, now to draw ghosts on the facing page
The pale waxwork head I made at the Careggi museum of pathology in Florence a while back
The windows at Cornelissen art shop on Great Russell St Bloomsbury
Without downloading any new pics, what’s it like being in a relationship with you:
My anatomical painting of Eurydice at the Gates of Hades feels like last week in the furnace. More info at: www.eleanorcrook.net/product-page... #morbidart
Searching for chairs for our new place, these are so handsome and ancient but they make you sit up all proper and tense…. Perhaps not the most relaxing
Collage day… what else to do on a hot afternoon? Quite a few of my sculptures start life as paper collages
Highly recommend the beautiful Marino Marini museum in Florence. I had a Modernist Moment. Space, invention, scale
Currently on exhibition in the CARITAS group show in Antwerp, my new collage painting The Bardo of Anaesthesia . Where we go when we are under. www.eleanorcrook.net/product-page...
...A great pleasure to work with Sculpture Castings Foundry of Basingstoke . Works by us, six artists commissioned to commemorate the events, will form an exhibition in Westminster Hall in July. @ukparliament.parliament.uk 4/4
I was touched by the care taken by Parliament and people to pay their respects to the late Queen and honoured to be invited to make a permanent memorial to the occasion. I researched Westminster Hall and the Palace of Westminster and their sculptures for my design. @ukparliament.parliament.uk 3/4
Along with five other artists, I was commissioned by the Speaker’s Advisory Committee on Works of Art (House of Commons) and the Lord Speaker’s Advisory Panel (House of Lords) to observe and record the Lying - in State in Westminster. @ukparliament.parliament.uk 2/4
Just before Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s 100th birthday, we installed my contribution to the new collection of works commissioned for the Parliamentary Art Collection, commemorating her Lying-In-State, a memorial angel "May Flights of Angels Sing Thee to Thy Rest" @ukparliament.parliament.uk 1/4
I had to learn silver soldering for the latest sculpt. Surprisingly satisfying because GEAR lots of GEAR tiny gear too
Some characters I made for a show in Ghent , a while back : faux reliquaries
Thirty years ago the Schiele covers drew me to this massive three part Austrian novel but I tried and failed to read it. Something in life shifted. Just tried again and it seems perfect for now, irresistible . Robert Musil , “The Man Without Qualities” straight to the soul and the point.
